Sad case-Arab and Western educated
by Alice Janho on Nov 30, 2009 08:12 PM

All Advt say arab and western educated preferred,Even if one Minister came to MiddleEast and could negotiate and Bargain for Indians we would be on top of the MiddleEast .However they come beg ,borrow cheat the NRIs give us no interest on deposits back home and are all Kodas.Back in India worse situation taxes for paying 5star travel,Food in 5star locations and exotic travel at the Taxpayers income. If the tax and constitution is not rewritten soon we will become a Banana republic worse than Dubai or Africa.Everything has to be reformed and a corporate governance has to be at the top,Hire and fire people who dont work or cheat the country instead of protecting goons, and moreover never invite goons and then give Padma shris and vibushans.Save it all for a rainy day.Jai ho politics.

Really!!
by Rajesh K on Nov 30, 2009 05:53 PM  | Hide replies

This article is contradicting what Indian Government is saying about the outcome.

As per the Indian Government, Indian workers will not get affected by this economy meltdown & Dubai Realty meltdown will not affect Indian Stock market, will not affect Indian Realty sector.

Who is correct then???

The Indian Government is correct. The 0.25% of the India's Labor force that works there will be affected, the other 99.75% is untouched.

There is no question about low salary. The question is that why all Indian are leaving for work out side country. If they can work hard here also they can get double salary from there. They treated like animals [I am talking about labours job]not giving for rest, even not getting salary three months four months and also can't get out from there bcz they don't have passport to come out.Dubai is now only in word SPECIAL AND NOTHING ELSE.Totaly gone.

Manoj, have you ever been to dubai? It seemed a very confident and kinda eyewitnessed comment ! It is not that bad, even for labours here. They send remittances home back still, which is at least 3 times, of what they will every earn in India. Do you think in India, they are treated well ? How do you treat a labour at your home. Let us change ourselves first before dreaming of such situations.

are you working in Saudi Arabia? Do you really know how labour category Indian workers are treated (even though 90% of them are Muslims) in Saudi. They treat Indians like dog. No special treatment b'cos you are a muslim. B'cos our skin is black/browm

This is the problem with u Mr Zameer, U can't tolerate anyone saying anything against that country coz u just share the same religion. All the world know how brutal are the Arabian working culture. And they are #1 in encouraging slavery. Had it been the case with Nepal or Srilanka i would have opposed it with the same intensity although i am sharing the same religion with these countries. Don't treat religion above human values.

These countries just want every thing and don't want to pay. When the supplies of labour, material etc stops, they declare bankrupt and start a new era!. Fantastic way to grow fast without resources. When world spits at them shut teh gate and keep quite!

Kanaradi Saralayare Dubai is something intangible there is a proper vision they know today where will be after ten years.Regarding recesson it is called external factor which is nobody's hand to control it is not cheating.Nothing is happened in Dubai if something is happened it will bounce back very soon.If a person came to Dubai for cleaning that is his problem he didnot utilise the sources like free education in his native. If he is a graduate he will not do the cleaning work,if he does it may be for a while only soon after he will change his job.

Shock is felt not ONLY in India but also other Countries around India and South-East Asia. The worst would be the tiny Sri Lanka. It survives ONLY on the salary Housemaids, Garbage Collectors and Street sweepers monthly salary of $150; and their monly remittances of average $75 per head.

it is because of two reasons:

1. They get trapped with the overseas hype be it any gulf country including dubai(uae i.e.)
with added support from greedy agents. when they land here they are mostly illegal and without passport so they are like slaves from then on with no escape route

2. They underestimate the tough weather , work conditions and bad treatment in gulf and think anything overseas is good or better than working in india

THE FINANCIAL TURMOIL IN DUBAI
by Vascado on Nov 30, 2009 05:02 PM

This is what unbridled materialism and unregulated markets with den of speculators will lead us or any one in the World into. Governments around the Globe should learn a fine lesson out of this financial turmoil and amend their ways. If not, disaster only is in waiting. Growth is not the end, it should only be the means to an end.

You cant abuse a muslim or a Individual for the crisis, and mind you for the words u use for Allah, the Creator. You probably will understand if you have a open mind or a clean heart or have met a rightful Muslim or even know wat Allah means. Don just jump to conclusions or give comments hurting the feelings of many muslims who are a part of India and are proud to be Indians. may u be guided and get an opportunity to learn bout a muslim.
