I don't why government still don't bother about this huge population explosion. All they are concerned is about vote bank politics.

1.6 Billion people by 2050, will be a disaster for country like India. The less population you have the more faster the India will be a developed nation.

What Gulam Nabi Azad said is bull shit. Full electricity and Watching telivision is BS. If a guy want to have sex, he will do it no matter how many accessabilities he has.....

I had made a similar proposal in a full-page artilce in The Hindu dated July 11, 2004 which contained a blue print of how the task could be achieved. I had also indicated the connection between naxalism and the absence of big cities in Orissa, Bihar and Madhya Pradesh. Those interested may read it in http://www.hindu.com/op/2004/12/21/stories/2004122100231500.htm

Indian cities contd..
by ashok leyland on Nov 09, 2009 06:09 PM  | Hide replies

The recent UN conference on water was held in Italy in a small town with 250,000 population.
The UN and govt and NGOs all went there and this place was in some remote area. If they can do that in a place like Italy as corrupt as India, why can't we learn to think of India as being the entire terriory and not just the metrocities?

We are blessed with sunlight, still there is no solar power component industry. We have space to plant trees, we cut every single tree for firewood.
We can farm organically, we have land area and manpower, but nothing is done. We can harness the rivers and waterways, instead we defecate and pollute all the river, lake banks and sea coast/beaches.
We can farm organically but we pollute by using banned fertilisers that our govt. has so kindly bought at a premium from unscrupulous multinationals, the govt. is going for genetically modified seed which will make our dependency on the multinationals complete for seeds every year. This means they can raise the cost, blackmail our entire agroindustry.
We live in a hot country and wear polyester clothes and not natural fibres like cotton and linen, we are eating pizza, hamburger and chowmien instead of vada, dosa and puris. We use costly petrol and buy more cars instead of going on cycles. Rich people go to gyms and cycle on beauty farms and fitness clubs when all we need to do is live normally as we used to do 10-15 years ago and probably there would be less diabetes, heart problems and obesity.
