THIS IS A LESSON TO TODAY'S YOUTHS WHO GOT EVERYTHING SERVED IN SILVER PLATTER,IN LAST 7 YEARS INDIA HAS DRASTICALLY CHANGED AND SMALL TOWN HAD TAKEN A LEAD OVER MAJOR CITIES,CORPORATE WAS PAYING HEAVY SALARY AS SESEX WAS ON CONSTANT RISE AND CORPORATE WAS ENJOYING BILLION DOLLARS WITHOUT GIVING HEED TO THE GROWING EXPENDITURE AND PAY-PACKAGES, EVERY GUY AND GIRL WOULD CONSTANTLY CHANGE THEIR JOBS EVERY 6 MONTHS GREEDY FOR MORE SALARY AND BETTER ACCOMODATIONS,WHICH LEAD TO COMPANIES LURE THEIR EMPLOYEES WITH MANY FRINJE BONUS,BUT NOW WITH THIS GLOBAL SLOWDOWN IN BUSINESS THIS WILL HELP INDIANS TO GROW UP AND MATURE AND RESPECT THEIR JOBS AND DUTIES,ALSO RESPECT THE MONEY THEY ARE EARNING SO THAT THEY COULD SAVE FOR THEIR BREAD ATLEAST INSTEAD OF BLOWING ON UN-WANTED PARTIES AND OTHER ACTIVITIES..

India & China are least affected in this world economic meltdown due to the fact that 30-40% savings of their income of common people not talking about those who have money in Swiss Bank. Both these economies are fast growing. Know the levels inflation reached?

Don't generalise every one in IT. It is just about 5% people who switch jobs. You would realise it if you were a IT guy yourself. It is not possible to sustain projects if people come and get out of it every 6 months or so. Just because you hear stories about IT guys, you should not generalise it. Of course there are guys who switch jobs in six months to 1 yr. But I guess after 3-4 job switchs, no company would be ready to hire them. N

Immorality is there in every field only in IT is exhibited like Jayalalitha did whereas no one questions the source of income of Karunanidhi who has 3 wives 300 grandchildern, SUN TV is worth 10K crores & his family is considered the richest in Asia. There are teachers, schoolgirls, college girls, etc. who are doing prostitution. Could you believe it? 90% of rich, famous, respected, religious people are indulging in ALL immoral things under the sun.

Coreectly said. Kids were spoiled. I remember working in Bombay for 4000Rs with my first IT job. That was good enough at that time. Now the IT celeberities were securing 1.5 lakhs per month? And that definitely took them off and was literally abusing the status too.

Buying cars, flats all kind of luxuires and letting the otehr professions down. There are cases where people started ignoring their families too. Several kids became alcoholic, women etc.

These IT compaies should hire locals ,kannadgias and save money, hiring outsiders has increased salary by 3 fold and that is why all companies are now hiring, high time IT companies relelize that hiring outsiders is a flop show

Yes dude, you are right. Then Kannadigas should only stick to jobs in Karnataka. All the Kannadigas working outsite Karnataka should be kicked out. And all the Kannadigas working in places like US, UK, Canada, Australia etc should leave their jobs, so that it creates employment opportunities for locals. Think before you comment.

A better idea would be for IT cos to move out of Bangalore to other cities in India so your outsiders will remain happy in their home town and will also not need 3 fold salaries to pay for useless rent/emi. what say?

stop cribbing as always, why do u have to crib like losers many kannadgidas come and work in mumbai and delhi they should also be thrown out first. stop being racist, if there was talent pool company would prefer hiring local talent. also south ppl have major MTI they are not able to converse with americans, thats another reason. Fault is not there, its just that english is not as compulsory as there local language, the scenario is different in north and central india. Simple thing is improve your skill getting btech from private colleges does not help, simply improve your skills and i do not think kannadgidas or other indians would make a difference.

Bcos we are smarter people.rarely kannadigas goto north.. can count on fingures..the point is northies have problem getting their states working towards employment creation.. the only state which is better than all is Gujarat IT there is secondary..

kannadigas are soft, adjustable to any kind
of people and environment. In most of the
IT companies the percentage of Kannadigas
working will be around 20%. 80% of the
people are from outside karnataka. It is difficult for all the companies to replace 80% with locals.

Main reason for the companies to go for outsiders is more than talent. It is psychology. When you are working in a new place chances are more for you to stick to that company for long. If you employ a skilled local person for a post he may demand more salary, union problems, etc.

Another DIvide and rule guy. So what about the kannadigas working in US ? Why should US give job to those Kannadigas ? US can give job only to their nationals during the economic recession. Still they only telling the bailout companies to give pref to Americans than H1, not for all companies. Dont know when this James will grow up.If Kannadigas not getting job, that meant they are not competitive, give some training for them dude .

Dear Rediff,

The Original post that was released by PHDCCI conveyed the message in a positive frame but you guys hit on the confidence on the youth today. This is very bad journalism. Being a responsible news broadcaster, you should find ways to help people come out of recession by bringing confidence back in them. I am very disapointed with the way you people play in your business.

UP not affected as per UP guy
by Corporate Honcho on May 14, 2009 09:22 PM

UP is not affected as per UP guy. The reasons are:

As UP and the surrounding northern states never moved upwards economically and were rock bottom which means they have been under a perennial recession. By your logic, they will not be impacted in a downturn because anyway they were at the bottom of the pile and cannot fall any further. One has to move up, only then there is a chance to slide back.
