Prepare yourself
by Devahooti choudhury on Jun 08, 2009 11:18 PM  | Hide replies

Much have been said regarding salary hike of TCS top management.I can infer 2 things out of this:
1. TCS Management doesn't care about their employees. So,I would request the employees to search for good alternatives.
2. TCS as a company is heading towards disaster which is clear from the Top management decisions so employees be prepare for the worst.
Be a proffessional and put your best effort in finding alternatives.

Comeon, TCS guys are screened during recruitment, and only the lowest IQ ones are taken in. Thats why they have a tough time leaving. They are like cows grazing on the pastures. They dont have what it takes to join IBM, Infosys or Wipro.

1. U shouldnt compare with US companies. Bz US companies went on loss and govt provided money so obviously they dont want to go as bonus.
Here this is No1 IT company in india and its going on profit, then no need for us to cry on that.
2. Everybodys value depend upon how much we contribute to the profit and growth. Ofcourse i am also a SW engineer still contribute to the profit and growth of my company. But my pay is in a different bracket range than my CEO or CFO. My earning to company may be 100k pa and get say 700k pa. But CEO/CFO can get a 1 million order in a month or can safe guard a 1 million order from a tough competition. Thats why they paid high.
If they send me out or reduce my pay and if i go out, they can replace with 100 people like me but they cant replace ramadurai or they dont have 100s of ramadurai in market to replace.

Business is full of demand and supply and ur value to the market/company.

No need for cry for everything and anything.

Since you asked us to compare with US Companies.

In USA some companies hire a top executives from the market by paying him/her a huge compensation to sack all the employees in that firm. similarly TCS by sacking all the employees they gained a lot and that money is going to all these top executives.

I believe that you must be happy if you get a part of it otherwise you must feel sorry fot others.

Hi Xbox, Looks like you are getting more than what you deserve. Thats the reason you are supporting TCS folks. If the company is running in profits why did they put promotions on HOLD??

Hi XBox, It doesn't matter how good and BIG your CEO is, It matters only on whether the employee is happy or not. Wether he/she are getting what they are suppoused. Dont put your commnets by looking at one side of the story.

TCS is one worst company to work!
by Arvind Garg on Jun 08, 2009 10:46 PM  | Hide replies

TCS is one crap company to work. Real crap managers and highly unprofessional people, but not only TCS is taking advantage of current market situation by reducing lower level employees salary and making higher level richer, but all other companies are doing the same. Anything bad happens and first thing they do is fire lower levels, decrease lower level salary and save higher levels. All private companies are very selfish and without any moral. They really don't care their own people who worked for them and filled their pockets.

Dont blabber. TCS is a wonderful company to work with. Lot of learning.. In any company, what matter is 'how good is your manager' if you get a sucker then your life will be misery even in heaven.. Pay hike for top brass in tCS is not fair when they screw people in lower level that you can comment not on working in TCS

What Govt doing....?
by indian on Jun 08, 2009 10:27 PM

Compare this situation to US, when some companies resorted to providing bonus in spite of taking TARP programe funding, Obama govt was smart enough to highly tax these bonus, so that it found the way back into the treasury.

Here, I believe govt should act and do the same thing and probably pass on those to resources who were shown the door.
