I think as a minister he should be doing it. 1. He should get the details, how much Textail products (both raw material and finish goods) India imports. 2. What is the World market. 3. Where does India stand in the world market(how much we export) 4. Who are our competitors 5. How good is allied industries like Color and Dye industries, Machineries etc are in Inida. they are far better in China. : : Many more question. As a minister, he can get all the data with in minutes.
If planned and executed correctly, this is possible. I wish him the best.

Only Industry which directly affected by Weather is Tourism. But Malaysia, singapore, Dubai's Tourism Dept came over Weather. Keeping this in mind, Even Weather is not a problem.
btw, climate in Chennai hot and humid. Its not a desert. and Dont say whole TN is very hot.

ha ha as if Gujju girls are white as milk and beutiful as aishwarya rai. C'on, on an average all Indians are brown or black irrespective of state. If a Gujju lives in Chennai for two months, i wouldnt be wondered if she tuns darker than before
Matter cannot be created or destroyed similarly creation of jobs is a figment of the authortarian mind. Also those in power have a penchant for figures.Mr Maran I am sure will conjure the ministry to show that more than one crore jobs were created on paper but unemployment is same.He will then say that it is the job of HRD.This is like Lalu put the Indian Railways in profits in one day by juggling act on PAPER

lalu did in fact put Railways into profit and not by juggling acts, but in reality. Railways did improve freight utilization and reduced waste from hauling empty and less than full freight carriages.
its product have high quality. I have used chinese products extensively as have done indian products. Any day, indian products (of course i am just talking about export stuff, we all know what they sell inside india) are far superior to the chinese stuff. We must work on this agenda.
Re: INDIA SHOULD DRIVE A QUALITY CAMPAIGH TO SHOW THE WORLD
by Loan Shark on Jun 02, 2009 10:30 PM
dont forget the cost ... ultimately the quality is application specific ... you do not want to spend $1000 on a shirt that will last a million years or $100,000 on a car just to get 100 miles to a gallon of gasoline
What if Maran wants every Gov employee to wear a khadi for a day in a week as uniform :) Wouldn't that boost the sales. Why don't we people help the industry to wear 1 Khadi dress once a week. I hope we need 2 sets atleast for 6 months - makes it 4 sets per person per year.
Will that help drive the domestic market.
1 Allensolly / Arrow / van hussein cost Av Rs 1200 per shirt a khadi wouldn't cost us so much. Agreed we need quality products.

khadi is the not the solution of our textile industry problem ... we produce high quality fabric too ... wear clothes madw from local fabric, not inported fabric
show protectionism, impose duties on imported fabric and garments ... encourage textile mills to improve quality and give duty discounts

I wear Khadi/kadar shirts regularly in combination with dhoti(veshti) and trousers. These are reasonably good and reliable as well in a price range of Rs 150/Rs 300. Only the khadi sarees for women do not have the desirability. In Tamil Nadu, six or seven years ago, when handloom workers were in deep trouble, college girls came forward to observe one day of a month as "Khadi day" when all girls would dress in kadar sarees. I would go to purchase kadar sarees for my niece who was studying in a leading women's college in Trichy. She was not permitted to come out since she was a hosteller. It was then that I found out that the colours and range were very limited. But most kadar shirts , especially coloured ones are looking good. (The type worn by actor Pasupathi in Virumaandi for the " Kothala Thevar" character and actor Sarath Kumar in the movie " JanakiRaman" )
So I have a regular set of kadar shirts with me. Why don't we give it a try? Regards, S.Suresh, Trichy.
SLOW DOWN & UNEMPLOYMENT ============================================================
Where there is a will there is a way!
It is to say that the authorities are increasing the number of seats in various professional colleges, irrespective of the employment opportunities and avenues for the students.
The admission process and fees structures are not modified as per the slow down and the mounting unemployment.
Every year more than a lakh students pass out of various professional colleges in each state.
Thus year after year the number of unemployed youth is accumulating.
The vigour and values of the students die slowly. The students forget subject, become unfit for various competitions and out of frustration they are driven to various unwanted and displeasing activities.
The parents lose on grounds to motivate further their beloved wards!
Various political parties were able to stress on various schemes like money transfer, gifting of provisions and other luring schemes.
In addition to this creating employment, offering at least a job to every family is the essential need of the days.
The new Governments along with intelligentsia, academicians, human resource authorities, placement department officials, business and management schools faculty shall device methods of recruiting major portion of these unemployed youth.

Thanks Mr. Rao There is another point many did not notice, at least the leaders. Students taking professional courses need a certain level of intelligence and aptitude. We can assume an average of 10 % students reach the required level. The number of professional colleges are increasing without taking into account this aspect. The govt should put a cap on the number of seats depending upon the numbers coming out of the plus 2. Another point is that a good chunk of top rankers leave this country searching for better prospects. Thus the average caliber of professionals working here is poor. This is to be tackled appropriately. Progress of the country depends on the professionals/scientists.
Let him read verse 14 of Ch. XXXIV Udyogaparvam/Mahabharata One should not take that the mouth can not hold. The leaders should read at least once the Viduraniti which is a guidance (Holistic) to all including the rulers at Central Secretariat.
