Anything that helps the health of mankind is worth the money gone into it, though it may not result in serious future development.
I think its definately better than NASA and other space agency efforts investing crores and crores of dollars in the name of searching life on other planets, other solar systems, space tourism, and other timepass when they cant even manage life on earth or predict climate changes, siesmaic alerts and take measures against them causing huge damage to life and property.

Correct yourself in your views. Space Research though very expensive has lot of advantage. Today's lot of information (including accurate weather report, here you needed to correct) Comes from satellites which is the fruit of space research. In the real life scenario for Indians, we spend lot of money to elect a Govt that listens to people and improve better life for all people. Do we get? No. Then why we agree to waste huge funds that elects a garbage govt. Answer lies to you.

everyone of you see the budget of space agencies and then you wont utter a word, leave alone a paragraph. Space tourism ticket for one person is one crore rupees, you are free to go, come on cheers, enjoy ur ride. Read carefully i didnot say space research is rubbish but comparitive analysis and its practical benifits that we get in real life are far less blame it on anyone.

Why should all our efforts be directed just at improving the human life? Why shouldn't we research something just to understand more about our universe? Don't you it's the duty of us humans, who are the only species capable of making sense of our universe to do so? Don't you think knowing more about the the world around would make us understand why we have to live in the first place? How's your view of life, where every man and woman should just live on free of all problems and satiated in all their desires any different than the life of a dog who's only goal is to have a bone in his mouth?

we should find everythin.. powerful... Dr.Kalam said, 'if we want the save one slice of our food, we must spend half slice in defense'
This is great, our scientist has acieved. Most people thought that brains are only in US,UK,AUS and goes there for education. But these scientist who educated in India and done remarkable things living here only.
this fellow SKB is a big fraud. most poeple do not know him. he is the first to claim credit for any work. and he is not loathe to claim things which has not been actually done. i am very skeptical of this feat just because SKB is involved.
for those who think i am uttering rubbish please check google for the plagiarization scandal in which SKB was involved.

SKB is on top in India's Scientific post. Guess Quality of Science and Quality of Govt. in India. Unfortunate Indian - they have huge talents, but wasting because worst people in the Governance.
Its good news that Dr. SKB has completed the sequencing in India. But there are certain aspects we need to be careful about. (1) Its not "without any international exposure or support" - that is impossible as yet - they have used equipment and techniques that were developed abroadjust to repeat something already done outside (2)In spite of the US sequencing the human genome in the year 2000 and the same type of hype regarding treatment applications, nothing significant has improved in healthcare as a direct result of the genome sequencing as of yet. I suggest we do not get carried away by such articles, though we apreciate that the work has been done in our country now.

Malaysia for example never wastes its time to do some shit work , they prefer better roads , electricty, water supply , which you need in life DAILY rather than stupid projects following the white man's footsteps.
And yes same Malaysia said India to FK off when India tried to intervene in hindu disputes there. This is for those who live in illusions that India is a some superpower.

You are right. So far the genome sequencing has not resulted in any significant medical breakthroughs, though it was expected to work wonders.
why are they opposing a good technology ? so what if someone else has done it already ? why not do it ourselves at a fraction of what it costs in the us/ europe ? why should we be dependent on them ? and en route to this we have developed and hired some good manpower instead of exporting the brains.

Why don't you get lost instead of writing the same stupid things again and again. This is an Indian discussion forum. So get off.
