To all those who say research is a waste...
by kaka on Dec 22, 2009 10:12 AM  | Hide replies

Why should all our efforts be directed just at improving the human life? Why shouldn't we research something just to understand more about our universe? Don't you think it's the duty of us humans, who are the only species capable of making sense of our universe to do so? Don't you think knowing more about the the world around would make us understand more about the meaning of our life itself?
How's your view of life, where every man and woman should just live on free of all problems and satiated in all their desires any different than the life of a dog who's only goal is to have a bone in his mouth?

Over importance to human health is a peculiarity of western selfish thinking. Instead we should also look at the health of the mother earth.

Bright scientists waiting for their share of glory.
by Rahul Khaitan on Dec 22, 2009 10:10 AM

Today's media is full of nonsense. Politics, useless opinions and third grade presentations.

There are so many bright scientists, achieving and making a difference to millions of lives.

Alas, only if they have enough attention and focus, both from the administration and the media. We could be seeing more of such kind.

Medical treatment and heath care are needed,
but before that you and people need to fill up empty stomach.
With empty stomach you cann't invest yourself for medical research.
Many many crores of Indians do not get 2 meals a day that is
utmost important and urgently required.

many crores of indians have no self respect. when they cant afford food and shelter they breed like rats to increase the already increasing population and spread poverty and disease. if we think about our poor, india would forever have been a third class nation, we wud not have satellites and top class scientists creating magic for our future generation. let us forget the so called poor and start working towards making our country rich and prosperous. poverty is mostly self inflicted.
