please note that brain drain is not a new one to debate. there are lot young professionals migrating to different countries for better career as well as living conditions

It is necessitated in the present situation of injustice to merit in the name of quotas. Both in education, employment, promotions we are following a system that thwarts merit and below average/poor guys occupying higher places

Is this not a fact?

the individual concerned can say whether he is an indian or not...

as belongingness is a thing of the mind and is not affected by holding a passport or otherwise...

I never saw a curly faced man. lol... Do we really have curly faced man.. or are you referring to curly haired. This is what an American is:
A stupid, dumb, burger eater, mannerless person who knows not a single place on the MAP of the world.

Being Indian
by Sedrick Alex Dmello on Sep 24, 2008 12:32 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

He is not an Indian. He left India long time ago and has chosen the USA as his home. Even this nomination is mostly because of his adopted nationality. Why does Rediff go how-bow about he having any Indian roots. He is not even bothere about the economics of INDIA.

Don't feel proud if Anti_Indian gets Noble Prize..
by Ravi Sankar on Sep 24, 2008 12:03 PM  Permalink

Persons with anti- Indian heart should not get Noble prize . The noble Prize winner should have Indian heart and neead not be Indian resident or Indian. If the persons who want to make India weak with their arguments like "India should decrease its defence budget and army" should not get noble prize . If such person gets Noble prize there is no meaning in feeling Proud.

Nobel Prize
by Ajay on Sep 24, 2008 11:57 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

No doubt its great news. We feel proud of being Indian. But we just want to see if any person makes our economy at the top in the world. Our economy is non-consistent and all of sudden takes a reverse gear resulting individual's wealth go in the gutter and feel we shall not come at the top of world. There will be extreme condition rich and poor. It will lead to criminal and corruption.

Indian economy is CRAP despite all hypes

Indian per capita income $3300
USA per capita income $43,000

Indian companies in Fortune 500 ......7
USA comapanies in Fortune 500 ........153

What top of the world are you talking about. May be when our 7 generations are all dead and USA sinks in the Atlantic.

Toyota camry costs lesser in US than india you know HALF as less than India.

It is good for USA where a shoe polish cleaner can also make good income.

Most indians are POOR making only Rs 20 a day in contrast. Dont you realize becaue they are paid POORLY they are poor and stay poor.

Difference between income of an enginner and a shoe cleaner is barely 3 times in USA not 10 times as in India leading to massive disparity.

I could show you shoe cleaners who easily make Rs. 250 to 500 a day
on the main railway platforms in
Mumbai.

If the difference between the salary of cleaner and engineer is only 3 times , then which fool would do engineering. Most would have for shoe polishing. Any one can do a shoe cleaners job, but not every can do an engineer's job.
All is not well in america too, remember that

Noble Prize jury is highly BIASED...
by Sunil Kumar on Sep 24, 2008 11:56 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

The jury people are highly biased towards EU/US. When they couldnot give Noble Prize - Peace to Mahatma Gandhi, what else one can think. There are many Noble Prize on the Basis of theory of "BOSE" (the indian scientist and on whose name boson is used in physics in many alogorithims/theories) but even he was not considered for Noble Prize. there are many more similar instances where Indian Brain had dominated recommended for Prize, but in the end it has gone to someone else....
