this article is a straight lift from business standard - today's edition.

further -

in the last six months many real estate agents have closed shop.

the chamalarapura power plant, 30 kms from mysore, is coming up which will dampen the real estate prices. any localite will tell u the real story.

the nice project is struck up. congresswalahs have purchased tracks of land along bangalore - mysore highway expecting the nice road to be completed this year. the jds and bjp govt. have cancelled the agreement.

with ramnagaram and north bangalore being the focus of the govt of the day large layouts in those places are resulting in dampening interest all over.

conservate mysoreons, recently, warned a 3 star hotel against having a bar for girls only. no more pubs is the refrain of these people.

pizza hut in mysore does moderate business only on weekends. no more centers opened in the last year.

real estate goons are ganging up to cheat gullible public into buying sites and flats in small cities - beware.

large layouts are empty in mysore - only investments - star of mysore a daily eveninger in mysore, reported that there are around 70000 sites unoccupied.....these are only muda sites. private layouts are a dime a dozen. around 30 kms around mysore is fully occupied and invested by black money guys and investors.

take care before u visualize another 10 times jump and invest ur precious money.

rightly said whatever investments happened only keeping in view of 10 fold increase in price not for their living real estate mafias are behind such articles trying to sell off their holdings by putting such articles. If you meet anyone whos living closely in this area and talk about this hot spot and all they will laugh at you.

mysore is a sleepy town, and there's no boom happening, the charm of mysore is its tourism potential. instead of developing that they want it to be another IT hotspot. thats okay - but there are other cities which have better potential namely hubli, mangalore, belgaum with plenty of colleges close by to feed them with engineers, fresh recruits. for depth and specialised work there's always bangalore. every politician somehow likes bangalore. though there's potential in mysore, its only on paper.

1) Poona does not even have a decent public transportation system.

2) Poona is a place only for ppl who can spend lot of money --- may be upper middle class.

Poona has the worst infrastructure of all cities... it is a nice city but it resembles more a large village than a modern town...
