Though her story is bodering on paranoia and lies there has been surprisingly no telugu people on this blog coming out to support her. So much for the huge Telugu community in the US. Probably if her name was Neelima Akkineni or Surapaneni or some neni instead of Tirumala'setti' she would have got more suport.Castism is rampant in telugu community in the US too.

not sure if there is so much casteism as you are trying to make it out.feel you are overimaginative and breed casteism more than you suffer buddy
I would be surprised.. Caremark is a big company. There must be a lot of indians around. Why was she the only one harrassed?? Something wrong with the story.. She must have indian colleagues who can verify this
Any one who has lived in the US will not believe this story on face value. I personally am sceptic of this story, reason no one I know or or me personally has faced anything like this anytime. Its really hard to believe.
There needs to be a thorough evaluation before one believes thsi story. Reason of something like this really happned it would have be a news item on TV here. Hence its really hard to believe it. The story has too many ingradients not to believe it. Its tough to believe that anyone in the US can so balantly and openly say and also behave in a fashion what the article has described.
If it was in Europe I would have believed it, but in the US well not really true..!!!

I agree. Rediff has this tendency to post such outrageous stories and people start to believe it. It portrays a very negative impression about the American work culture and even if found true, cannot be generalized. I am personally very, very skeptical of this story, and mind you - we have not even heard from the company's point of view yet.

Dear Shri Anand,
If you agree with the view that one needs to evaluate the story carefully before making a decision, may I know what careful evaluation have you done in this case to make such caustic comments. You are the person, who is in fact generalizing, and not letting the story stand on its own merit. If the lady wants to fight racism in US companies, you must be living in a fool's paradise to claim that no US companies display discrimination based on national origin of minorities. That is generalization on your part. So please be consistent in your logic. May I also give you an unsolicited but free piece of advise. If and when you will be discriminated and trashed some day in US, nobody will come to your aid. I can clearly see that day. So wake up and support her if you can, or just keep quiet if you can't.

You are dictating, we can speak as well as not support. Where are your evaluations of the story? Did you tell them in your argument? And yeah ! You look scared..as someone is about to thrash you...he he.
When everything is going fine, people will forget India and even may be criticising India and enjoy the life style of USA. If something is wrong they will turn to India for help.

I truly agree with you. When Indian people come from US for a visit to India...they have problems with everything in India and say its not like that in US. But when people get into trouble in US...then only they remember India.

Thats pretty much true. Its human nature. Nothing to be sad about, Indians are wrong if they expect the visitors to behave the same way as themselves.
