India is doing extremely well, Indian living standards have gone up. Why should the lady loose her self respect and suffer in USA? I guess she is using the ploy to stay back in USA and begging for Green card.

first abandon religion and languages . That would make india liveable. its irritating to see golts, tamils., gujs hindi, assameese, biharis. Lets all be one country and since our bread is IT -lets all speak a global language- may be english. If golti is a global language lets speak golit.
Why to make such a big deal it happens everywhere,It happened in our own pune for the railway job, some people try to beat the job seekers(Non maharashtrians) from other states. One who wants to help this NRI could have helped these people who are threatened by our own people. Though her condition is also bad ,but not worse than our people who could'nt even allowed to write the exam. Why all u want to help this NRI whose husband is a project manager and at any time both of them can come back here and earn lakhs of rupees in india itself.I am not supporting the americans what they did is wrong but everybody should understand that it is everywhere, take example of WallMart itself start thinking guys who needs more support our fellow indians who are job less or These NRI's who feel ashamed to come back.??????????

here are the reasons whay it happned need to know both sides of the coin.
1> It was a interview for Central Railways "Pune Division" recruitment and no ads were given in local marathi newspapers or on any newspapers published from Pune and Maharashtra.
2> But the ads were given to local newspapers in Hindi in Bihar and Jharkhand and Eastern UP. This is not a coincedence and this is exactly that also needs to be brought to notice.
So you had 7000 candidates writing the exam and only 2 from Maharashtra. When the recruitment was being conduced for the Pune Division and in Maharashtra.
Ads are given in Hindi Newspapers 2000 kms away and no newspaper in the state and city which its run is given?????

Thats not true, if you really want to know what happened in Amerika or with jobs you should know that.
Within the field of cognitive psychology, information processing is an approach to the goal of understanding human thinking. It arose in the 1940s and 1950s. The essence of the approach is to see cognition as being essentially computational in nature, with mind being the software and the brain being the hardware. The information processing approach in psychology is closely allied to cognitivism in psychology and functionalism in philosophy although the terms are not quite synonymous. Information processing may be sequential or parallel, either of which may be centralized or decentralized (distributed). The parallel distributed processing in mid-1980s became popular under the name connectionism. In early 1950s Friedrich Hayek was ahead of his time when he posited the idea of spontaneous order in the brain arising out of decentralized networks of simple units (neurons). However, Hayek is rarely cited in the literature of connectionism.
In my experience, as long as an Indian (or any other dark person) is serving without questioning, there are no problems. The moment an Indian seems to rise up in org chart, politics and harrassment begins. Much of it is hidden. Indians are always fighting an uphill battle aborad due to our colour and religion. If we don't come together to help Neelima fight back now, tomorrow it will be you.

Dude, what are you talking about? Indians are excelling in every area, field, and a lot of them are moving up the corporate ladder, in Management positions, and making India proud. It is born losers like you, with your stinking attitude who bring shame to Indians as a whole. Stop cribbing, and apart from working hard, also change your stinking attitude. You'll go places then. By the way, the U.S. is the fairest place to work, with politics nowhere compared to what we have in India. If somebody can't make it in U.S., chances are that he/she cannot make it anywhere else in the world. Stop complaining!

blaming color for non performance is thoroughly unprofessional my friend. A profit driven firm promotes the best worker, not the fairest. If u feel u were treated unjustly, quit, dont crib. Ever heard of Rajat gupta?

Thanks for the link, I have actually left a message for their customer care asking how they could have allowed the racism to go on unnoticed for so long.
Neelima was trying to handle the situation at her best, but in vain. Its become very difficult for a working person, if he/she mentally harassed. Here, what%u2019s problem with usa, if that country could not take responsibility of NRI%u2019s then y they recruit ppl. from abroad? Better, they keep their own ppl. Its more than cruelty that lady was assaulted at her home. It%u2019s the prime duty of the concerned authority to do justice with Neelima.
We don't know why her US colleagues began to call her .......?. And how many Indians are working with her and why they are not supporting her. Is she has attitude problem. I am working in US from last 10 years but never faced any problem. First get the true picture before coming to any conclusion. NRI

I agree with raj. It mainly depends on you as an individual. I'm not saying there isn't racism, but the problem with most indians is that they don't try and change, assimilate with the rest of us. If you think he's in denial, go look up and see how many indians own businesses, and top jobs here. Many indians especially from the south( not a personal attack, and based on my experiences) have an attitude problem. Don't tell me that there isn't discrimination in india even though we look, dress, sound very much alike? I think you are in denial.
