Cochin International Airport
by bimal janardhan on Mar 28, 2007 03:01 PM

Of my flying experience within India, I would rate Cochin International Airport the best airport in India. Strategically well located. It is a sight to watch the landing or take off from the aircraft when it approaches the airport which is in the midst of dense coconut groves. The airport is well maintained, clean, with good support staff and adequate seating facilties. The car parking facility is also very good. Perhaps the only airport which has the facility for Airbus380 landing strip and also is a glorifying example of Private-Public profit venture.

even if it is newly built, certainly it makes a difference than other airports in terms of cleanliness, service and we don't see a big crowd outside bothering passengers for transportation, hotels etc.

Certainly!
I have been to several airports in the world and India. I think Cochin airport is best which offers International facilities to passengers.
Its keeping high standards for cleaniness, Immigration etc. Even the duty free is world class!

Customer Service
by on Mar 28, 2007 02:58 PM

Good Customer Service is what makes an airport good, ALL Indian airports lack this. Whatever the reason, corruption, officials not interested in their jobs, unnecessary harassment...

People would do anything if asked with courtesy and a smile.

Do we have choices?
by navin aysola on Mar 28, 2007 02:56 PM

It's just like asking "Are Indian roads better or Indian traffic sense better" or better so, "which city has the best traffic sense"
We cannot take a bunch of average airports and decide which is the best.
We need best of the best. Not best of the worst.

Based on the recent revamps and changes, i would say Hyd airport is quite good in connectivity, facilities and reaching the airport as it is in the heart of the city.

Indeed... are our airports safe? I dont think so... as long as corruption prevails. Thats the sad part.
