Best Airport in India
by on Mar 28, 2007 04:06 PM

It is a joke comparing Mumbai with other airports in India. What we should see is where it stands in terms of international standards. In my opinion, it falls far far short of basic requirements.

i dont know what is waitin in 2050 as on date
i find Chennai Airport to be simplest and spacious with good code of conduct with the passengers at every stage..except baggage check which matters from airline to airline..Airfrance restricts exactly to 20kg while Emirates allow up to 28 Kgs...again flexible...

Mumbai Airport.. Best ??.. Bigger Joke than Indian Cricket team..
by sreekanth ukkadam on Mar 28, 2007 03:45 PM  | Hide replies

Infact it is the worst airports i have ever seen in my life.. Ofcourse i am comparing them with the likes of New York, LA, Calgary and Frankfurt.. I don't expect them to match the standards of those i mentioned.. but it would have been much better for our gateway of India.. Indian airports are a big let down..

The newer airports will naturally have better facilities compared to the older ones. By 2010, Mumbai, Delhi, Kolkatta and Chennai will have new airports, built in collaboration with builders/ operators of other international airports in the world, which surely will be designed to have superior facilities compared to the existing airports in India, including Cochin. The cycle of renewal will continue and in a few years time, other airports in India may be upgraded with even more superior facilities and surpass the then existing airports in terms of service standards.

Let us not look at this issue as a matter of regional pride!

Belgaum
by faisal ustad on Mar 28, 2007 03:20 PM

Belgaum Airport is best.. its less crowded.. Becoz there are no flights, except one. The domestic airports should be improved in india. if u ll go to belgaum airport, u cant make out whether its airport or bus stop.

Best Airport in India

In my opinion too Bombays International Aairport at Sahar is the best in Inida. I have taken international flights from Calcutta, Bombay and Delhi Internation airports several times and personally feel the Bombay among the best due to its facility confort and other passanger facilitites. If we compare Indian airports with international airports at Frankfurt, Newyourk, London, tokyo, Hongkong, Singapore, Taipie, Toronto I believe we are no where but in India Bombay is the best.

If it is just a case of passing with C grade, Mumbai may scrape through. But in this is an era of competition, and we have to aim higher!

I would only say that Mumbai Intl Airport is 10 years behind the Modern Times. It is time to wake up? The Govt did wake up proposing Modernization but people oppose. People in India got habit of opposing bad things and good things as well.
