Reservation in Pvt.Sector.
by SUBRAMANYAM on Aug 11, 2007 12:46 AM  | Hide replies

I have been associated with industries for 35 years. I know well how our industries are suffering in the hands of various governemnt depts,NGOs,politicians, goondas and above all labour unions. The governments are granting concessions, tax holidays etc. But, at an average an industrialist has to pay 2%to5% to the concerned to get benefit. Routine audits, which costs . Despite of these other bribes from time to time. Inspite of all odds the pvt. sector is contributing highest revenue in the form of central Excise,Sales Tax,Sutoms duty,Incometax. This is because it is employing the real talented, meritorious employees who are working hard day and night with accountability, responsibility when compared to their counterparts in public sector undertakings. If senseless governments ineterfere in the workings of private industries and endanger their operations, then there is no wonder they do not hesitate to closedown their units in India and go to countries which are offering more incentives, infrastructural facilties like uninterrupted good quality power, communication, roads and labour. (to name are some African,South American countries,Nepal,Srilanka). Then the loss to our country is more not only economically but also in employment. These short sighted, senseless, uneducated politicians should be thrown away. The solution is to remove reservation on the basis of caste but on the basis of economic backwaredness only. Then only real needy will benfit.

Bloody boneless polticians should come out of reservations mindset
by Prof R K Gupta-India on Aug 11, 2007 12:31 AM  | Hide replies

The idiotic politicians provoked and abetted by some luxury and dity money seeking creamy layers have connived to grab positions every where to make money and enjoy lifetime of pensions. Now that governments are failing and jobs are dropping, these idiots are eyeing private sector to grab huge salries being paid to employees. There never 3was such a cheap and drity abuse of foolsighly writtne constituiton.
Indian industry to shut down shutters sine die and have show down with these handful of corrupt people.let country now go to dogs than to go later to complete destruction.
All reservations muct be stoppe dimmediately and indians should come out of this dirty mindset to jumpt ques and seek extra contitutionla rights and try to be more than equal in name of some hypotheitiocal 1000 years old discrimination.Indian is riding economics and social order of castes, classes and reservations in 2007.This is digusting and shameful.Shooting down a few cheap polticians wont be a bad idea for long term interst of Indian society.mayawati should remain in her limits .She is just a public servant electe by us and on very small percentage of public she claims to reopresnt.Planners mut focus on development, financual aid and eduaction and basic facility,.rest ,people will take care.Dont make castes permanent in country and reverese discrimations you fools.

Well said Dr.Guptaji. These politician are damaging our country in all fields and creating a bad thought for me that, had the British been ruling our country perhaps, India would turned out be a very advanced country in medicine, science, technology, and economically. Ofcourse we would be treated as second class citizens. But merit would be considered and appreciated. It would be better than be ruled by the sycophants, lunatics, goodas, religious fanatics and corrupted antisocial elements. This great country sufferred in the hands of muslims, and other aliens and even now strugling in the hands of Karunanaidhis,YSRs,Lalus, mayavatis, sharadpawars and communists. As an average, middleclass citizen I am awaiting a godfather who can save our country. Iam aged 55. There is no hope in sight. Atleast our grand children may see India without caste based reservations and under the rule of dignified, matured politicians who will do justice equally to all.

With such a useless policy coming into act, will make sure that no business unit will establish in UP and thereby leading to more poverty and illiteracy. Shame on Mayawati, you have implemented this policy to get good amount of votes by giving job to people who will give vote and will make sure with this policy she will always win in election .. Dirty mind of all these politician will never ever think productive and selfless to improve the condition of state and there by country.

Fair Policy
by vijay ram on Aug 11, 2007 12:20 AM  | Hide replies

I belong to the so called upper caste, but I whole heartedly welcome this move.

It is a refreshing change from the policy of exclusion, divisiveness and abuse that have characterized the policies put forth by Arjun Singh and Congress.

Here are a few things that make Mayawati's proposals different:
1. Brahmins are not excluded simply because of their birth. The deserving among them (poor) are included. The policies of Arjun Singh by contrast are used as a weapon to disenfranchise Brahmins irrespective of whether they are deserving or not.
2. It is a carrot policy not a stick policy. If reservation is enforced across the board and made compulsory, then private Industry would just leave the country. Instead, the Government is doing its part by saying "we will help you by providing subsidies. Now you do your part by helping achieve our social objectives"

The country cannot develop until all Indians, Poor Brahmins, SC/ST, OBCs, Minorities all have a stake in the system. Forwards castists who think they can progress by beating down the OBCs and Backward castists who think they can progress by beating down the Brahmins are both sorely mistaken.

When elections come about next time, my vote is for Mayawati.

Abhey! You can noway be a person of FC! It is high time we abolish caste based reservations and make the reservations as make them available for the poor people who cannot afford. You know a rich SC/ST guys can get in MBBS with mere pass mark but a poor FC guy cannot even think about MBBS untill he gets 98%. To hell with such reservations. So if u have a little intelligence left inside you, then think before u post ur obsolete ideas on this page! Go and get a life!

Mr Nambiar,

Your stand against reservations is acceptable. But there is no perfect solution for the caste issue.

There has been injustice meted out to some sections of the society in the past and we as a society are still in the process of compensating such sections.

A better way of implementing the reservation system is one where one family benefits only one time. This way every family gets to benefit from it. Until then, we have to live with it.

Mayawati's proposal is actually very good. It helps the economically weaker sections (it could be FCs or BCs or SCs). It also is fair to private sector companies who can choose to implement the new quota system if they wish to make use of Govt. subsidies and incentives.

So, chill out and stop complaining !

It's up to us to take up the responsibility of helping take India to the next level. Let's put the focus back on that !

Do you think the private companies looks at the caste n the financial status of its employees? They take people who have talent. So why to bring in reservation there?Give reservation at the school, take no fees for them. But people should be smart enough to clear the entrance exams to get a seat.Reservation must not be for the seat but before and after they get a seat. Only then can we know if they are making good use of the reservation extend to it. If we keep awarding them seats and jobs just cos they r poor and belong to the lower caste, it is not gonna help the cause. We also need to improve the mental stature of these people too. So instead of extending the reservation, let our politicians first correct the current reservation system to be effective. And about people being treated badly in the past cos of their caste, it is very unfortunate that our grandparents generations did such hideous things, but how long are the current generation is gonna be struck with it?Do they wanna forget the bitter past and move on or get stuck in their stand? All the caste system is a crap.It needs to be abolished totally and a common civil code needs to be implemented. People who are poor needs to get focus in ways of educational fee waiver/stipend,healthcare,sanitation, housing but definitely not for getting a seat in higher educational institution and job. They need to earn it for all the benefits they get being poor, from the government. They need to work hard like rest of us.

what is your caste by the way? I am damn sure you are from one of beneficiary classes of follish system in foolishly written constitution in hurry by inexoperienced and euphoric people.
Reservations are nothing but attempt to shield incompetence of State to generate opportunities and rural development with 80 million waiting form jobs.No country canb make so many jobs even with reservations. So it is self defeating exercise and off the track.Cant you understand this? Simp;e maths?Indians are job minded idiots.Still looking to governemtn to throw alms.It is also a tool to catch votes and fool people. It is reverse dicrimination and make people boneless,un-motivated and que jumping for easy jobs and money and corruption to avoid hard work and and acquire skills. Most of so called reserved class guys instead of being grateful to nation behave as if they are obliging us. A large number of them are rampantly misbehaved, cheap and corrupt. They know these political idiots have no guts to sack them. What kind of country you want to create you dude? Keep your bloody opinions to yourself.Marry off your children first to these backward class guys and come back here for dicussions with yourn practical example.Stop lecturing.Indian industry must pull down shutters and have show down.We cant take it any more .thge mockery going on in india and loot for last 50 years in name of out foolsih and badly mauled constitution.India is sure heading for major civil war like conditions soon.

I am a brahmin and I welcome the policy. Yes Why should the Pvt sector get lands and other subsidies if they can't share Social Burden. If they need subsidised rate let them employ local people if they cant find local talent let them train them or they can choose to do away with subsidies and get everything in Market rate. She has atleast recognised that even in upper caste there are economically backward people. Unlike Arjun singh and others who want 27% for OBC just for the sake of Votes.

In fact she can also give option to Pvt investor to start education scheme for downtrodden and provide facilities if they need subsidies as alternative
Thanks

This not a good policy. Reservation is not the only solution. Private sector means who so ever is compitent will survive irrespective of the cast. Govt should just give support so poeple will less income but should not divide county on the basis of caste and creed. Mayawati has showed she is not different from anybody else.

Please go ahead. and fast. If Ambedkar can make a Constituion for us, his successors will find ways to survive as well.

They have 'proved' their worth when the majority remaned illuiterate. when they have started making theie presence felt, they want to leave. They are smart enought o understand that they stand no chance in a level-playing field.

Who told you Amebedkar only made constitution. He was one of them .In experienced and euphoric lot.Ambedkar took out 'Khundak' of his bad experiences wherever he could . The Indian constitution was 'Khichhri' of so many constitutions and mainly British inspiration. As Indians knew only that model. They still continue to behave like brown masters from britain and most of them desrve kick .It is time to pack all these idiots in congress and other parties to UK.Instead of development we believe on sops.No country in world can acomodate 80 million jobless guys in a country of teeming 1200 million people.Just understand this.this discrimiantion is now being brought about. In my childhood I never understood and knew what is SC/ST.Now I know. These idiots should find better ways to take votes of a few corrupt leaders of communities fooled by these leaders emotionally like gurjar movement.many more will come and indians will fight themslevs to poverty, death and destitutiton.Churchill was damned right in his observations. We are ruled by scoundrels and corrupt.Gluign to seats and rolling in luxury is main fiocus of hungry and greedy wild indians who mamnage to eneter poltics after they failed everywhere else. Many of them are harderned criminals or their represntatives too.
