Now Deve Gowda should tell his contribution to the state
by Vivek Kumar on Oct 24, 2005 02:41 PM

We have seen , how infosys has come up with the fact and figure against Gowda's accustion. We give clean chit to infosys.
Now Deve Gowda should list his achievements, what he has contributed for welfare of this state.
I am at least not aware of his contribution for welfare of karnataka and kannadian.
I know that has not not done anything for well beings of farmers cause,( which he is crying for).
Moreover when he was PM, that time he could have done something for the state but he chose to sleep in the parliament and only woke upp to give some stupid comment.
SHAME ON YOU Mr. Gowda!! GET THE HELL OUT OF HERE!!!

But why companies are sticking only in Bangalore!!!
by Udit Pratap Singh on Oct 24, 2005 02:33 PM

Whatever is happening in between Mr Gowda and Mr Murthy, that is due to a basic mistake. This is simple if all companies including MNC's will continue to setup their centers in Bangalore city only. The city infrastructure will crash. The company people have to learn this thing that India is a big country and has so many good cities.Infact now a days almost every state has atleast one or two good cities with very good infrastructure where IT companies can setup their centers.By doing so they will help many people and many govt.so why Mr Murthy is only interested in Karnataka. He has to comeout with a particular perception type of mentality and should initiate the process to spread the IT companies in every state. Then only the problem of poor infrastructure of a city and disorderness in the income of states can be solved.

Infosys and Deve Gowda
by Narayan on Oct 24, 2005 02:20 PM  | Hide replies

Deve Gowda's comments about Infosys and Mr. Narayana Murthy are unwarranted. He is playing caste politics, because Murthy is a Brahmin. Gowda is a Vokkaliga. If Gowda had blamed Azim Premji, he would have given a suitable and appropriate reply.

IT Companies have to look into the issue of providing jobs to locals. They ask for all sorts of infrastructure from Karnataka, including power, land, food provided by the farmers and Kaveri River water and they are reluctant to provide opportunities to local Kannadigas. Tamils and Telugus are streaming into Karnataka.

It will not be a surprise if Karnataka is broken and distributed amongst Andhra and Tamil Nadu, if this trend continues.

Hi there,
Please don't give that crap....
It is Indians who are enjoying the success of Infy and it is the local population that earns its living from this influx of ppl who are working hard to earn their money and then spending it in your cities.
Indian Airforce has a great representation from Karnataka so maybe all the IAF fighters should now be placed in or around B'lore.
Its like you don't like sharing your success and can't see other people succeding either. Have you also tried to find out how many kanadigas work for Infy outside of Karnataka?
Well go figure.
Srikanth

Imbalance of Infosys
by Vijay on Oct 24, 2005 01:46 PM

I would blame Mr. Murthy for this situation. Why are you going on buying land and properties in only in Bangalore?? Are there no other cities in India that can sell land to you or allow you to set up companies? I know you will defend by saying your company has branches spread across India. In that case, why not scale up those operations rather than going for hundreds of acres of land in Bangalore only??? This shows there is some wrong deal happening between the Bangalore bureacrats and Infosys, else you would have purchased land else where also. It's high time you moved to some other state as the growth of your company is getting imbalanced. Bangalore is overloaded with IT and Gowda is trying to balance it. If you can question politicians, they too can question you, you should be prepared to eat, if you can dish out...when you are considered a revolutionary person for India's economy, you should be ready to take the fame and the blame equally.

Mr. Deve Gowda should be ashmed of dragging Mr. Murthy & Infosys in his politics, Infosys has done the most for development of IT industry in India.

Flog them ?
by Jack on Oct 24, 2005 06:54 AM

I think the crux of the matter lies in the last deve gowda comment. I think the real estate agencies lobbied against infosys not paying them rent and they want their pound of flesh. To belittle infosys help to karnataka is a cheap trick on gowda's behalf. I can't wait for the day when such politicians are held legally responsible for their outrageous lies and comments. Better still, if they are flogged on the streets

Brilliant strategy by Gowda to come into limelight. Gowda never got so much press coverage ever since he was kicked out of the PM's chair. I think it is time for Gowda to go back to sleep.

Infosys vs Deve Gowda
by Raghu on Oct 24, 2005 01:47 AM

Looks like Deve Gowda is suffering from INSOMNIA lately and the adverse effects of this is affecting his judgement and thought process.

It's high time that politicians like him to realise that the importance of industrial leaders who are working/ serving the people and appreciate their work.

Sleeping in Lok Sabha and else where is what DEVE GOWDA reminds us. He is and will be the laughing stock of the nation and it is imperative that media should avoid proliferating meaningless comments made by such men.

In all, this is a bad episode between a good man who is one of the pioneer of Indian IT industry and a sleepy-head who just woke up from a nightmare!
