I strongly oppose the BJP government at the centre the way they are demonetisation of 500 & 1000 notes.

Tell us what you did that led to this?
by JagadisKumar Maniswamy on Nov 15, 2016 02:04 PM

It would be great if rediff opens a discussion forum where the readers narrate all the black money , bribe given , received, suffered during a riot, bandh , paying out for paper work ( for all these riots and bandh , black money plays a key role ). We , with family stood long hours stranded in bank to exchange our notes and all that pales into insignificance when compared to all the wasteful time we spent just for what we rightfully should have got. It is such a shame that rediffmail opens such a discussion board. Hope you do not become another NDTV. There were a few such triggering shameful stories from you in the recent days.

Please help
by SOMDATTA SHARMA on Nov 15, 2016 02:02 PM

My dear Rediff, Please help the system to revolutionize it. Don't be so foolish in spreading half cooked stories of the ques in front of Banks/ATMs. Make positive use of the website. We all have to bear a bit to bring a change in the society. I am yet to gather the courage to stand in the Que but will never blame the system. Today,s happy news is that PM's mother also got exchange the old notes and 95% attendance in the exams in Kashmir.
Thanks

I have faced absolutely no problem so far. I managed to withdraw 10000 rupees from my bank on the 2nd day itself (3 2K notes and 40 100rs notes) and also got 2000 rupees in 100rs notes on sunday night. In the first case I waited 2.5 hours and in the 2nd case hardly half an hour because the atm was being loaded just when I went there (the atm was closed for 12 hours before that and there was no crowd).

So I am now helping out those in need. I gave my maid and cook 500rs each in 100rs notes and my gardener 300rs in 100rs notes as a salary advance. Now these three people don't need to go to the bank for at least the next 6-7 days. I still have close to 5000 rs in 100rs notes and before this began had 3000 rupees (100 notes each of 10 and 20 denomination). I make it a point to spend 80-100 rupees in this small change every day at small hawkers places for fruits, vegetables, chai, small items, etc and 20-30 rupees everyday at the vendors at signals selling chana, moongfali, car towels, etc, even if I don't need it. I am also slowly spending my old 500 and 1000 notes (about 6000-7000 which I had when it got banned) at the petrol pumps in filling up my car. I am set for the next 2-3 weeks, so I am trying to help those who I can in small ways.

We dont mind standing in the Q for any number of days . We dont want any Politicians to shed crocodile tears for our sake. We are aware of the FACT that you are concerned only about the BUNDLES stored in the UNDERGROUND . Please dont fool the Public by your acting skills . We have seen these types of Dramas earlier also. We are ready to suffer . PLEASE DONT WORRY ABOUT US .
