Safe in Delhi?
by paliakara narayanan sreenivasan on Nov 28, 2015 05:08 PM  | Hide replies

Vidya Nair is deliberately mixing up to be on the pay roll of Rediff for rediff pays only when you talk against Hindus and Hinduism and Modi.
Vidya Nair should ask her mother what nasty comments her mother faced from males in Bus stops, taxi stands in Buses etc in Kerala where women population is higher. How her mother was not able to move after 6.00 in the evening, how they had to move in groups from schools and colleges.
She presents as if this is happening after Modi came into power
She doesn't also know the Hindi film world was the doyen of Dawood and the traces have not left.

People like Aamir Khan brought intolerance into India. He has got Navy captain Ajit Vadakkayil arrested due to a simple facebook post.Ajit: Poor Indian Navy officer.
Aaamir: King of intolerance.

Fully agree with her concern being a father of a daughter and all those unfortunately prevails in this country for many years and then question arise why suddenly today? why this gentleman Amirkhan or that purpose you also madam were silent when "Nirbhya" rocked Capital Delhi .Let us not have a double standard. wrong is wrong yesterday, today or tomorrow irrespective of the rulers. You are entitled to your opinion and political views and express it freely but do not take shelter behind "Daddri" or "Kulburgi"

The writer is mixing two types of safety here. May be as a lady she is worried to be alone anywhere. This may be true as we hear about a lot of crimes against women, and these are crimes and not intolerance. Aamir khan's statement aswe can see is different and unwarranted.

You can't produce only convenient portion of Aamir's statement
by DEEPAK PRAMOD SAMANT on Nov 28, 2015 01:01 PM  | Hide replies

Dear Vidya Nair,
Do not produce only part of the statement made by Aamir Khan which is convenient to support your view. Aamir has specifically mentioned that in last 6 to 8 months the intolerance has increased and he & Kiran feel unsafe now. Which means he was not feeling unsafe before that... Was India safe before 8 months? Was it safe in Congress regime? Were you feeling safe before 8 months? India is as unsafe today for everyone as it has been for last 7 decades. There are innumerable incidents of hatred, intolerance, crime, riots in last 68 years after independence and almost all of them in Congress regime. Nothing has changed. In a nation of 125 crore, fringe elements will always work. No Govt. can control that. Govt can not watch every citizen 24 hrs. A statement of intolerance in past 6-8 months by Aamir is clearly scripted and politically motivated. No prizes to tell who is behind this.

bingo you have nit the nail, the statement that India has changed in the last 6 to 8 months and it was very tolerant for all the other years after independence is what shows the purpose and the unwarrented sweeping statement that Mr Aamir Khan has made.

Why don't you quote Aamir Khan getting Ajit Vadakkayil arrested because of a facebook post showing that he is the king of intolerance!

Intolerancy in India ???
by bipin kumar chaudhary on Nov 28, 2015 11:48 AM

Intolerancy is there in each and every contry of the world. If you compare India with any other country in this context, I can say India can't be termed as intolerant. The level has also not at all changed.

So I request my fellow Indian citizens, for your short term gain, please don't defame India saying it Intolerant.

yes, agree there should be freedom of expression. But when privileged class like cine actors who are loved ,cared, posses wealth and popularity at the cost of common man, speak about INDIA without understanding as vast majority is still reeling under poverty and fighting existence ,instead of contributing trying to malign image. You are part of INDIA ,so do your bit and you should be more responsible to the nation as majority is in favour of peace and coexistence.
Where were AMIR and all others complaining now when kashmiri Pandit in their own country bouthered, murdered and displaced? OR in 1984 riots.
Therefore it looks why all of sudden they have become scared for no reason?
We ,all ,need to do pur small bit to change society and by just blaming wont help.
