S Venketeraman -can he bring about change
by MITU PADHI on May 10, 2013 01:44 PM  | Hide replies

People like S Venket can do a lot if they have the guts to take on corruption in the country .As a MBBS he had an opurtunity to serve the poor only , but he did not have the powers to implement his ideas . As an IAS along with a MBBS degree is a very big oppurtunity to serve the poorest of the poor . For a start as soon as he becomes the Collector of a district let him change the Health scenrio of the particular district . That itsef is a big challenge , and can he meet the same...Debashis Padhi

By passing an IAS exam one does not become an intellectual knowing solutuns for very thing immediately! In fact check the assets of so many Babus after 1947, you might be surprised to see that they may have minted or looted more money than even our polticians! In fact if one were to confiscare the assets of panchayat prisdents, mls, mps of ruling parties in states and cntres and unaccounted assets of babus after 1947, we could be an economic super power richer than USA&europe combined folks! But since w ehave such a ritten elction&voting systems since 1947, we continue to produced crooked polticians and leaders andlooters and we will continue to be Banana repulic unless we reofrm the rottene elction&voting systesm, But does eben patriots&real intellectuals CARE????NOOOOOOOOOOOO!shame|!

Shame supreme court as well as patriots&media were sleeping since 1947 or acting as cheer leaders of crooked rulers&looters&that is why we have 500 million majoriy hindooos still srtving after 65 years of independence! To Make india a true and well-meaning working democracy we MUST have the Following Reforms without any Delay 1) Voting Must be made compulsory for all indian citizens above the age of 21 and those NOT voting wihtout adwaue health or travel reaosn must be Jailed or Fined Heavily 2) All elctions wihtout 95% voting must be considered NOT valid&electios continued till 95% Voting is done 3) No candidate must be allowed to compete for more than 2 Terms of assembly and parliament 4) term of assmebly and [arliament MUST be reduced to 3 Years ONLY 5) Unless eletronic voting machines(EVM) are made hacker-proof and rigging-proof and have facility yo issue paper receipts of their voting to ALL voters, EVMs must Not be Used and Paper Balloting and Manual countring of votes must be Introduced Immediately ,6) Hope above election&voting reforms are implemented wihtout any delay too

Cuttack-based medical graduate Sriram Venkitaraman, who came second in this year's Union Public Services Commission examination says he has "realistic expectations" of his IAS career.Better he serves people being doctor.
'Corruption can't be erased in one day'saying by him. I agree with you, but may be reduced by increasing honest people in the country.
