I think Corruption can be erased from India in one day if Modi is made the PM of India. Because Modi will sell our country on the same day to Porkkistan. Then there will be no corruption in India.

THE IAS,IPS ARE THE STEEL FRAME OF INDIA,INDIA IS TODAY WHERE IT IS TODAY IN POSITIVE TERMS BECAUSE OF THEM.DONT BLAME THEM IF OUR ELECTED CLASS ARE FRAUDS,AND AS PER MY FRIENDS HERE IF YOU THINK IAS IS A WASTE OF TIME THEN WHAT ABOUT THE MILLION FARMERS AND URBAN PEOPLE WHO NO ONE THINKS ABOUT EXCEPT THE DISTRICT OFFICERS AND CIVIL SERVENTS.THE POLITICIAN WILL NOT CARE ONCE ELECTION IS OVER THESE ARE THE PEOPLE WHO CARE THEY SHOULD BE RESPECTED.AND WE HAVE TO STOP TALKING IN RELIGIOUS WAYS THATS WHAT HAS DESTROYED INDIA.

IAS, IPA people are a trained lot, knowing the how of doing things. But that training does not purify them morally and does not inculcate any higher ethics in them. That is why corruption is surviving and prospering in our systems. The nucleus is justice, and judiciary. If every crime that has actually happened and caused harm to society is punished by our courts, quickly and without giing in to cleverly sought adjournments etc. corruption and crime will be reduced fast. Today, the obvious fact that lawyers are making more money than specialists in medical profession shows that there is huge corruption despite IAS, IPS, and I say on experience that it is these people who contribute to corruption the most.

IAS topper is not any special breed. In most cases, topping is a result of cramming or luck. Many non-toppers are good administrators and many of them are not corrupt. The secret lies in PUNISHMENT for any wrong doing includng for corruption. That PUNISHMENT should be truly deterrent and fast, with no room for appeals and procrastination.

"Corruption can't be erased in one day"

Agreed! BUT for it to be erased, effort has to be put in to erase it. What is actually happening?

Corruption definitely is being EMBRACED in one day.

Alas! There are no checks and balances at the entry stage which is much before one starts a career.

Yes, Maya, Laloo, Mulayam, Karuna, Kanimozhi, Raja are all saints.
Where do you get such a casteist bigoted mindset? Your cursing of so-called "forward castle people" makes you just as twisted bigot as someone cursing so-called "backward" ones.
Exapnd you tiny mind and start looking at humanity as people rather than this or that prism. Alas, one is dealing with Indian who even in in 21st century continue to have mindset, intellect and social values worse than those in 1st AD.

why was he allowed to appear in IAS
by Mera Bharat on May 10, 2013 08:42 PM  | Hide replies

Never able to understand this. He wasted a Medical seat which could have been a blessing to one person & hundreds of patients. Think about the last guy who was unable to get in Medicine that year. He may have helped hundreds of poor .. But this guy watsted one Medicine seat for becoming an IAS which he could have done by getting B com or BA. I hate people like this who dont even understand why they want to do in there life..He dont understand that we dont have many doctors in our country to serve huge populationwe have & every medical seat is sacred

Do you know how many Medical Yes. Medical Graduate IAS Officers can do a lot to India. But so do other or any IAS Officer. It is as good as saying MPs,MLAs can do a lot to the Country. And we are practically not seeing but experiencing what great things/service our MPs & MLAs are doing, all over the Country. Graduates are IAS? Do you know anyone who is posted anywhere remotely connected with those depts you mentioned. Never. You would have noticed that IAS Officers are transferred every 2 yrs max but 2 weeks if they do not tow the Ministers. Simple because they are mentally corrupt, impotent & incompetent, to say NO to Minister if it is not in the interest of public in general & also announce it in the media. If one IAS says, its against Code & conduct but if all of them (the so called brillaint achievers) say NO, it becomes the law & our so called MLAs & MPs who are born in India, only to serve the public, selfless, will have to become Yes Boss Politicians to IAS Officers. This clearly proves that such highly intellectual become useless once they complete their training & start their career. In a way India is ruined because of such people because we have simply copied the British who wanted to control India thru their ICS Officers. At least they were honest though they were working under Foreign Rule.

Your criticism on the poor Sriram Venkitaraman is meaningless IN A MOST
CHAOTIC SITUATION INJOB VACANCY/FILLING
MECHANISM SUPERIMPOSED BY POLITICAL INFLUENCES IN ALL PLACES !
I have many burning examples where the
boy who passed as mining engineer to get accesand then changed into management by a study and then chaged into financial
investments and then a coordinator in a system!
what will you say?
thousands are like that !

No Medical GRaduate should be permitted to appear for IAS. Sure he has wasted one Medical Seat. Already India is short of Doctors & one to go to rural areas. This is one reason country has gone to dogs. Can India avail his services, to improve the Health situation? Never. He will be posted as anything but in the Medical & Health Dept, throughout his career, as IAS. And take my words for granted. Why should a student go to IAS & opt for IAS? They should give his services as Engineers. They should go to IES and not IAS where the only way to live is to say Yes Boss to some murderer (elected MP or MLA) confirmed criminal, rapist etc. for 35 or 40 yrs & push India into further misery. Did we anytime come across any IAS Officer who said NO to the illegal demands of Ministers & went Public to announce such illegal demands of Ministers? They have code & condcut to protect such criminals in the garb of MPs & MLAs. This is what IAS ultimately meant for. Just chamchagiri to Ministers & all the politiciains.

Corruption
by arungopal agarwal on May 10, 2013 04:58 PM  | Hide replies

If bright people join services, corruption is not an issue. Actually corruption is of two types-1. at higher level (public do not know it till publicised) 2. Grass root level- public in contact on day to day bais. This can easily be routed with time bound accountability concept, see in private sector-hardly any corruption at grass root level.

There is only corruption. No two levels. Once a government staff is transfered and posted to a place which is far away from his home for being honest in service then he also turn into corrupt for running two seperate establishment. This affects common man. Show me one department where is you can get your job done without money. Even simple work such as getting a birth certificate or death certificate the procedure is so large either you have to entrust teh job to a tout or waste minium two office day. So comparing teh cost of the salary per day people engage touts or pay bribe. Can these so called IAS officers do not know that. They are also nothing but a government paid politicians.
