I think IIMs and IITs are not universities. They are independent colleges governed by the govt of India..what to know where our universities like Bangalore Mysore stand in the list..

This is a ranking for undergraduate programmes and thats why we are not seeing IIM A, B and C
Many faculty in Indian universities do not want to do collaborative research with their peers.. Even if their student has done all the hard work they want their name to appear as the first author... this is really a sad tale of many a student in India who is never encouraged by his professor...
I like these rankings because it clearly lists out all the top schools worldwide. We need an Indian based company to do this because otherwise we have to reply only on biased foreign publications.

Although I wish Indian institutes got better infrastructure, so that we have more Indian institutes and less or none Chinese ones!
Unless the govt seriously starts spending money on since and technology , we are not going to see any change.. today many brilliant minds stay away from academics because of poor facilities and salary offered by most universities...
