The same old strategy-divide and rule
by Dan Lewis on Mar 18, 2011 08:40 PM  | Hide replies

Dont be foolhardy. Completely ignore the statement and analysis. It was done purposefully to divide India in discrete regions so that they can reap the benefits.

we need not accept everything he says. it has its own mistakes. dont see south as a whole single block. what about kerala. well educated, 100% literacy. but if anybody starts a factory, if not day one then day two there will be strike. any industry could survive? industrial desert. barring bengaluru and mysore, what about karnataka? so we cannot differenciate simply south and north. north has exceptions like maharashtra and gujarat; and south has kerala.

South is gods land
by Bhatti Murari on Mar 18, 2011 08:35 PM  | Hide replies

South India as a region shares the belief that population growth is detrimental to the society. When one goes through the statistics about urban planning, pucca houses, toilets, clean drinking water and other factors, the differences between south and north india will be revealing. The people in south too seem cultured and well behaved when compared to the others.

it might be true....but this does not speak any good because it is only when the fruit spreads to the entire country the effort made by the community it worthy of its appreciation. ppl in south India get educated well and fly abroad for prospects, and bihar and orissa are not even thought off as weak ness by the youngsters, which needs their help, to distribute the fruit of their efforts.

We may not like to agree with what he has said but it is urgent that we and the stupid Indian Govt do something about education and inequality. The Congress has been busy filling its pockets and doing nothing for the last 60 years. But now the danger in inaction is too much.

The North even more than the South has been betrayed by its politicians. But if we dont all work together we cannot do it alone.

Gujarat is good. So is Mumbai and Pune.( Sure not better). Maharashtra minus Mumbai and Pune is no good in comparison to Gujarat and Mumbai Pune.

Vishal.... I agree with you completely...this author only went by two blocks north and south. We have West, East and North-East. By taking all into consideration West and South is more developed , North with the exception of Punjab, Haryana and Himachal is underdeveloped. East is poor and same with North-east. Correct me if I am wrong.

You are wrong, East may be poor but educated. Mizoram has the second best literacy rate in India.

and make documentation mandatory to move from state to state. Otherwise, we will see MNS' cropping up in every South Indian state and will leave Indian union tattered.

don't say Tamils. the average tamilian is still the same as an average Kannadiga or a Maharastrian or a Gujarati. its only the dynastic politics that ruins the state. In TN, both the sides of the coin are rusty (both the parties), so either way the toss goes the fate is already sealed.

Chinese Strategist have rightly planned
by Rahul on Mar 18, 2011 06:05 PM

The Chinese have foolproof plan to divide India in to 27 states. The guys like you all are very ordinary tools for such designs. This debate is not worth anything except a tool to generate hatred among the communities. Stay away from such divisive debates for God Sake. Or Else be ready to be back as slaves....as we all were for centuries...
