Re: Only a Christian reformation can unite both together
by UP Guy on Mar 19, 2011 11:37 AM
This is not a religious problem, it is a linguistic and cultural problem. There are Xtians both in North and South. But still North and South are so different...

Christianity in India a problem rather than solution. India is united by its Sanskrit base in languages. Christian India would become divided in at least 5 parts. For United India Hinduism is tha base. Christian money came to India after looting the whole world. Have guts to say same thing in Pakistan.

That is just your view. I don't think Xtianity will solve any problems in India. Of course, missionaries do some very good welfare works for which they need to be praised. But for widespread problems, a non-religious approach is needed.

An egalitrain society cannot be there if there is Caste system. Therefore Christinization is the only solution.

I agree with your diagnosis of the disease but not its solution. A secular egalitarian polity is the need of the hour, and not religious theocracy of any type, Xtian, Hindu, or Muslim.

South India is much older than 6000 years of North Indian tradition.

This article is an Anti India article by Americans. American think tank is losers party. They lost in vietnam, Pakistan, had False war with Iraq. They don't know how to handle Afghan. Do not be misguided by False Ameri propoganda. They are merely jealous. There is nothing wrong to have target of South Korea type growth. In North India, I find shortage of men for work, salaries are going up. Bihar is on way to improve. Once UP and Bengal change their policies, North south divide shall be over.

Why is the problem not obvious without the article?

I don't want to sound bashful but I have to say that I never doubted the fact that we were overblowing India's prospect. It is plainly evident on Indian streets.

the particular community that is multiplying like rabbits....read between the lines....the countries named as examples: "population pyramid -- like Pakistan, like Afghanistan, like Yemen. Like traditional societies."
This has been the Congress policy of 60 years of appeasement for votes.....to rob, bleed and make India as laughing banana republic...

I agree it is time Muslims especially in North come out of their 'Arabic" traditional mindset and follow the path of progress. Whether they get educated in Madrassa or proper schools, it is time to realize that population explosion can bring them back to stoneage

Here is a question for you....

Why is it that most southies are great professionals and executives. but apart from a few handlful are not great entreprenuers and businessmen??

All northies although not great executives are great businessmen...

Here is the message You cannot paint all the ppl of India in 1 colour. Each of us have our strengths and weaknesses....and it is our unity which makes us formidable.

So all northies and southies should understand this and work towards a stronger complete India.

what about mal-nutrition
by Randhir Singh on Mar 18, 2011 09:12 PM

more than 46% of indian children are suffering from lack of food. Of course, the author is right in pointing out the danger of over-population illiteracy

Something must be done to tame the indian population.

India and Education
by kamalendra singh on Mar 18, 2011 08:58 PM  | Hide replies

The Leaders of the Nehru era agreed to have Middle level Education for all children upto 14 years of age. This article was included in the Directive Principles of the Constitution. But what happened? The States were not interested in doing this, they said they had no resources to implement this Directive Principle. Postpone it till later they said. But the real reason was that the dominant Brahmin lobby in the Congress was scared that a educated electorate would throw them out of power. And the Brahmins have been perpetuating the myths of old, that a Shudra reading scriptures should be tortured, and low castes hearing the Kathas should have their ears plugged with molten lead. This is why we are still uneducated. The South rebelled against the Brahmin domination even before Independence.Their thrust for Literacy was 20 years ahead of the rest of India. The Congress has been thriving on voters who are uneducated. But as education catches up, see whats happening, corruption is a Issue big enough to shake up the establishment. Like Indira, Sonia cannot dismiss it by saying " Corruption is a universal phenomina".

agree, I am a brahmin and frankly not a supporter of what they did pre-independence and also for sometime post independence. After revolutionary leaders like Periyar in TN and Ambedkar, situation has been prominently improved.
But...if you still are going to rechant the same stories now it wont be bought! Times have changed and casteism does prevail but not within the boundaries of one's profession, especially after IT has stepped in. We can trace back a good 20 yrs since when we had a fair chance of improving the gap between educated and uneducated. Today, its the politicil fraternity which doesnt confine to a particular religion or caste play the game to keep themselves in power. Stop blaming the forward community still and we have to start figuring out a solution to bridge the hiatus in economic growth between north and south, else south will eventually become a pit where the whole educated north should fall into which would create an imbalance in the economic system of our country.

Absolutely right buddy.
Dont blame you parents if you cant earn a living or you are not educated. Make you own destiny. Its you own fault. Same mistakes are being repeated today in the name of reservations. Its just that some other community are being thrown backward in todays India.
