The yoga which is given by our ancestors is amazing.it is not a mere physical exercise and the benefits involved are quite some thing different which is beyond imagination .

It is very important to take part in this event and offer our contribution - It is very easy to take part:
1. We need to go at event place on World Health Day(7th April) at Yogathen Venue
( go to yogathon website for venue)
2. We have to just do few Surya Namaskar and get certification of Spirit of Yoga.
Done. By just giving few mins you can contribute in promoting yoga.

Hi!
If this entire sequence has to be taken with the right leg leading then this picture of the horse pose pose 9 is wrong. The right leg should be between the hands and the left leg stretched out. The sequence is given beautiful in its entirety but this wrong picture spoils it. Hope someone corrects this.

Nope. Actually picture is not clear.. She started with left leg forward. At the end it will be right leg to come forward.

No, she started with right leg stretched back as written in the article and then in the pose you mentioned she brings the right leg forward between her hands completing one sun. The left leg stretched back is the next cycle of which there is no picture. It is right. The right leg coming forward and left leg stretched back is not together.

our ancient rishis would have performed Surya Namaskar fully naked and in the open sunshine preferably morning.

Doing the same in an enclosed room with artificial light will not give you optimum benefit.

secondly, it is proved scientifically that the sun is beneficial to plants and animals alike. whereas plants use sun energy to photosynthesize food, animals produce vitamin D which is a super vitamin known to fight cancer, strengthen bones, improve immunity, reduce cholesterol

May be this is what the ancient Rishis already knew.

Sit in the sun without sun-block
