Employee vs retainer consultant

Can anyone explain in detail the difference between an employee and a retainer consultant working full time in an organization? i would like to know expenses allowable for consultants, under Income tax act, who works in an organization...pls explain in detail

you could be fired for no fault of yours. The top management want their bonuses etc even in recession but for lower level employees its the pink slip. Case in point Kingfisher airlines. Mallya and co have not changed their lifestyle one bit. but for employees , what they get is a whole lot of reasons why they are being fired.this is the case with all corporates.

Recession, economic slowdown, decreasing profit, high fuel prices, rising Dollar are some of the current top excuses.
