Every now and then which so ever the goverment is finds an Idea to divide the people and enjoy the rule. And this is on of them. We desperately need a revolutionary change. Mustafa

Can all the above "secular" non-casteist people (some of them may be brahmins / Reddy's etc. from higher castes) give their daughters, sisters & Other relatives in marriage to dalits who have equal financial status? If that is possible then i truly support his campaign, otherwise everything is just Bu11sh*t

When it comes to oppression of innocent people you use caste,you claim as proud of your identity but when something challenges your caste based hagemony you are all Indian.What is wrong with getting to the root of the caste problem?

This is totally one sided petition by rediff!why not have another petition to support caste based census.I am sure the petition list will be far more than this one..It seems like this petition has politically motivated agenda
In a country filled with either poor or rich and struggling middle class we talk about caste when we talk census and census when we talk about caste with no relation or co relation.
Dumb Indians and a dumb govt and dumb country. We are all preparing to kill each other with this kind of petty politics... God help India.. but I guess his gates are doomed as well with nobody to take care of a 500yr old temple.
I guess even the gods are in no mood to help India.

Without reservation, the young generation of independant India may have forgotten the same, but they are taught to remember as to SC, ST, OBC etc.

Caste is a reality in India. If you purchase land, applying for job, one has to metion the caste like religion. Can you make all religion one ? Only the man who does not want caste census are small % of people who are exploiting for generations lower cast people. By caste census, the society can not be divided. The society is already divided by the higher caste people.
i don't know why these upper class people are crying foul on this caste based census and reservation... they want us to follow their religion, the fact is, they never allowed us into their temples... then why should we call ourselves hindus??!! is it a justice? why should we support ur RSS and VHP?? we will never support u if there is hindu mussie clash

You see Hinduism is the oldest religion. Buddhism is created from Hinduism. Now their population in the world is more than us. Due to age old exploitation, lower caste people are going on changing their religion. Specially OBCs, their condition are very much pathetic. No one is their to represent themselves in assembly or parliament, except few in Bihar & UP. Their population in every state is more than 50%. Caste census is must. Long deprivation will create all kinds of revolutions like Naxalism etc. Govt should think in right direction. Like SC/ ST, there should be reservation for OBCs in assembly & parliament election.

Who is asking you to follow one's religion. You are free to observe any religion of your choice. You may right now go and get converted to Muslim, Christian or what ever, who bothers. But keep one thing in mind, Caste-ism is used supported, nourished and by all political parties (more intensely by self proclaimed secular parties) for their mean intentions.
