Here are excerpts from Francois Gautier article in Indian Express titled 'Brahmins have become the Dalits': - But the people who demand today a caste census, do not want it to alleviate caste and poverty. They want it because in today's India, it is enough to have the voices of the muslims and the Dalits to be elected. It is at best a cynical poloy, and at worst one that will hurt India and divide her more and more as the British had wished.
how many dalits are empowered to join this petition? How you will get real votes on cast census? come on our media is can not reflect what all Indians thinks... its only empowered part who can access this media... so throw this campaign in dustbin... I AM FOR CAST CENSUS... need to know what is the grimm reality of India... through real numbers...

Iam not for caste census, provided if India could prove that the most finest privates in India has equal representation of all communities

EQUITY should be from the entry level to the top notch in the private company. will india prove it?

All right thinking backward caste people should either tell 'Don't know' or as Amitabh Bachchan declared tell their caste is Indian. The next step is to bring the reservation based on caste census. Once the right thinking backwards do not claim OBC or BC status, the percentage of backwards to be given reservation will automatically be reduced. With that not only the dirty politicians building vote banks will be discouraged but also the political class and economically well to do backwards castes who reap the benefits of reservation will have less seats to fight for.

Actually there are more undeserving dalits who have been empowered by reservations than there are so called forward caste Hindus.

Why are you a hypocrite, trying to hide your identity. They will bear no weightage. This the problem with us. We do not have the guts to call spade a spade. Whats the use of doing census if we continue the way we are going.
Instead of going by their own perception, rediff should try to be a better media by providing a healthy and open environment. Anyway I see rediff only to check the masala news and all the se how People comment although I don't consider as true representation. People who visit rediff visit only for Masala kind of information(this is rediff way or writing :-) take it easy)
All those who signed the above petition can come forward & marry Dalit girls & boys if they really believe in equality. Let Brahmin organizations declare that they will carry out mass marriages of Brahmins with so called Dalits every year. Then only shall we give up reservations. But they wont & Bcoz they are the hypocritical ones. They will speak about equality but will not have relations with Dalits.
It may question about equality and parity of the PRESENT DAY POWERFUL COMMUNITIES for money, media, power & livelihood supremacy. The caste based census will give ground reality and it may lead to social parity. I support caste based census.

Caste is like cancer, cannot be cured so easily as some ppl say like ( we are all indians, no reservation on caste. etc ect). Catse was purposely created to keep the masses illiterate and to keep them opressed so a select few cud enjoy all the rights and privileges. Unfortunately time doesn't remain the same, it changes and it must change. Its becoz od Caste System, Indians were ruled over since they were never united. Why didnt India conquer the world just like British, mughals? the reason is the conquerers in india were busy conquering their own ppl (read lower caste) .
In India the politicians want the Caste because they need vote. Common man needs the Caste because there is only limited seats in the OBC category. It would require another Mahatma to bring the selflish people in Administration and Political Arena to abolish the Caste. Our judiciary will also support Caste because there again we have the Politics ruling. Unless all join hands to shake out the system we will not abolish the Caste. For all of us to join hands and stand together either we need a big tragedy as Mumbai Blast or British Rule. Both of the above are painful to lots of people which I pray should not happen in the future. God Save India from the SELFISH humans who are living there.

Even the hindu gods are identified by the CASTE! CASTE DOES EXIT IN INDIA. Marraiges mostly happen within the caste still... BLUNT RACISM openly practiced by society but never accepted. DUAL FACE of these top most caste followers had ensured that it will prevail.
