PRK Reddy
Re: CASTE IN HOLY BOOK
by PRK Reddy on May 13, 2010 06:15 PM

In India's Vaasthu Shastra, which describes the principles to be followed while building temples and houses, it is said that the pooja room (God's room) is head, kitchen is left hand, master bed room are feet and so on. This is not top insult any of the rooms in a house.

By saying that Brahmanas are head, we only say that they are the thinking people of the society. By saying that Shudras are feet, we only say that they are the working people of the society.

What is offensive in this?

Stop looking at things through western eyes and through vested interests, who are inimical to the religion, culture and traditions of this country.

Cast in New census
by rakesh nigam on May 13, 2010 02:00 PM

Its mockery of our constitution which gives us law of equlaity. and also it sets the foundation for our next round of slavery. The whole country is bound to get divided on this cast system. earlier it was during vote banking and now its on records.
Its a sheer way of division politics.

Govt played cheap card- caste census
by rahul tiwari on May 13, 2010 02:00 PM

Cast census is based on theory that population of SC/ST and OBC caste has increased, then why does not they also do take care the population of non SC/ST or non-OBC which is so-called General category before taking decision? It is also indeed require to not to encourage people to increase their caste population. It is a shame for indian govt that they do not consider economic level but the caste for resrvation.now if census starts counting, people will run for prducing more and more people in their caste fo hoping high percentae of reservation. Ofcourse a required reservation needs to be retained and more options for study, basic infrastructure is need to be brought for OBC and SC/ST.

Let's make India free of caste culture
by Shailesh Gaikwad on May 13, 2010 01:56 PM

This is unfair to other people which doesn’t fall under these so called lower casts. I am strongly against the caste. Those who have talent let them grow irrespective of any caste.

As our all policies are based on castes, no problem in caste based census !!! First stop the caste/religion based reservation, apply Uniform Civil code and then one can have census w/o caste.........

Yes, Caste was authorised by Sri Krishna in Bhagavadgita 5000 years ago. "Catur varnya maya sristam, guna karama vibhagasha.....", He says "These 4 caste i created according to guna(the modes of nature like mode of goodness, passion, and ignorance) and karma (the work). He never approved these caste system of bogus present caste system. Were they follow caste by birth, brahmin son claiming to be a brahmin because he has taken birth to brahmin father, or the sudra sons claiming they are sudras (SC/ST) becuase his father was sudra and harping over to get reservation, and in between these two people others harping to get into OBC to get reservation. This has become a mockery in our so called civilized democratical system. Even Dr. Ambedkar passed the resolution of reservation for 10 years. But these so called politicians for their vote bank claiming to be secular harp over this issue. Negros in South Africa, in America never harped on this issue of getting reservations, but due to their hard work we are now seeing the negro president of America. Just by reservation you can't uplift a person. if so then these people are in hallucination. If any person concerned about the upliftment of the poor people then the reservation has to be on the economical status of a person. Every penny account has be their of each individual. Yes these thoughts are dificult. But a sane man has to work or take atleast one step towards the nation building process.

very true. First the reservations for SC /ST -- which continued even though it was meant to be for 10 years only but becoming stronger with every passing day. And now this which will lead to further division among an already fragmented society.

Divide and rule
by Sudripta Nandy on May 13, 2010 10:15 AM  | Hide replies

How long we will be under this caste system? Its a known fact to all educated people of India that politicians use this caste system for their advantage. They are the ones who don't want this caste system to go. They see this as a vote bank... divide and rule. The British did this to us, now these politicians are doing it. There was apartheid in U.S too. But, see how they are eliminating it, they are not going in for reservations or cast based census. They have implemented such a strong civil law that no one dares to discriminate. The result... a black U.S president. Will these Indian politicians go the same way... never. They never come up with proper solutions to actual problems. Will there be any law like China to control the ever increasing population of India? No, never... because this may affect the vote bank. Will these politicians ever stop thinking about themselves or their party and go beyond that to become true leaders? Will they ever prioritise the country over their vote bank? No, never...

Excellent comment. I agree but how should we do avoid it.In india numbers are important and not quality. This is happen in India.we can not ask at world level as our population is one sixth of the word's population therefore we may be given one sixth of the world's advantges, such as we can not ask the world organisations to give us (India) Gold/Silver/Bronze medal in olympic or any other world game according to our population.

Nandy, u missed out one point. The caste/religion victimisation is highly prevalent in India. That's why self-seeking politicians are taking advantage of the situation. To control these self-seekers, Individual perception has to change.
Reg population control again Individuals interest in controlling population is required. Education alone will help in this regard. Pls be reminded that Sanjay Gandhi's plan on compulsory family planning earned him a bad name in this society.
