Making a caste based census is the last card in the politicians hand to ultimately divide the country. At any cost we will have to resist it. Even if the census asks us about our caste we should simply tell "I am with out a caste or outcaste"
To keep country united,caste mention should be done away with.Mandal Commission be not allowed to be repeated.It is counter productive.It will demolosh the fabric of Great Democracy.
It is not 'devide and rule' - a cliched expression used by morons time and again with neither context not purpose.
The underlying purpose is sinister. Every thing in this country is done for VOTES in next elections. The days of doing some thing to the society and citizenry are long gone.
So , while giving election tickets in a constituency, they can suitably use the equations. Secondly, it is easy to appease people if you know the caste - from the district level to the national level. Third and most sinister is, it acts as a catalyst for demanding reservations or adding to the list of a particular group ( lets say Gujjars in Rajastan wanted ST status or some such).
The caste thing is proposed by all those who came into the public life through back door ( pretty much every one ). So naturally we have a no show here when we protest the 'no caste' in census.

A 21st century CENSUS! Who would have thought that it would get tangled in the web of the caste. For once the country thought that it was really coming out of its age old shackles. We are to be identified by our birth & pedigree definitely. But how does caste become a pedigree factor? Isn't it one of the factors which vitiates & maligns our pedigree. It is not the way GOD made us. So why superimpose on God & debase his purity. Let us be identified by our birth & let caste factors be included for those who want it to be included.Let it be optional & let's have a census on who opt for it's inclusion.

A Nation must treat its citizens as Citizens with Equality. However Higher caste should also learn to adjust lower caste to form equality and they must forget past bias attitude. Higher caste should also drop their surnames to bring greater equality in society. further they must agree to get their sons and doughters to lower caste families with eqaul status.

Internationally caste is not a welcome comodity,but merits that matter for recgnition. Character should have been on high agenda,but no interest is shown by ourleaders who seem to hide their face on Que.of want of morality to raise issue with sole motive of vote-earnings.
This is only devide & rule. Govt is inviting more trouble. Administration can't do anything creative with cast census. Often people think only Hindism have cast system. Does it apply to Christanity & islam too?
