CASTE IN CENSUS IS A FATAL BLOW TO THE SOCIAL FABRIC OF OUR COUNTRY WHICH PRIDES ITSELF AS A COUNTRY WITH UNITY IN DIVERSITY. CASTE BASED POLITICS AND RESERVATIONS ARE CAUSING DEEP DIVISIONS IN PEOPLES MINDS AND HEARTS. THE STOPPAGE OF WATER SUPPLY TO DELHI BY JATS DEMANDING RESERVATION HAS AFFECTED ALL ALIKE IN DELHI(NOT ONLY THE JATS) AND SHOULD BE AN EYEOPENER TO OTHERS WHO ARE DEMANDING SIMILIAR RESERVATIONS.IF OUR COUNTRY HAS TO REMAIN UNITED ALL CASTE BASED CALCULATIONS SHOULD BE STOPPED AND MERIT BE THE CRITERION. RESERVATION TO PHYSICALLY CHALLENGED IN EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTIONS SHOULD BE THE ONLY RESERVATION THAT SHOULD BE ALLOWED AND IN JOBS TO A CERTAIN LEVEL (DEPENDING ON CALIBRE). ALL OTHER RESERVATIONS AND CASTE BASED EQUATIONS SHOULD BE OUTLAWED AND MADE UNCONSTITUTIONAL.THE RIGHT TO EQUALITY IS GETTING SERIOUSLY COMPROMISED BY THIS KIND OF CASTE BASED CENSUS AND RESERVATIONS. STOP THIS NONSENSE ONCE AND FOR ALL.
All these comments against caste are just spur of the moment thought. In a country where honour killings, ill treatment of lower caste is a way life, we need to see the underlying roots to check what needs to be done. If a legislation could have removed castes it would have vanished centuries ago. But thats not the case in India, along with the laws the economic conditions, the social stigma need to be improved. Given our apathy towards lower castes I am sure none of us would want have friendship or relationship with any of them.
The problem lies deep elsewhere, the brahmin/higher caste hold on the society is a reality, you just need to your open eyes....
If caste based upliftment is abandoned now we will be in a bigger abyss than what we are in now.
Just check within you own household how many of the lower caste or the minorities are allowed in kitchen.
How many of the shudh veg resturants employee muzlims or chr1stians?

While the comments may be true but if you adopt vengence against some community are you going to succeed? Where it will lead? Since they did somethingin the past you do now. So the cycle will go on and there will be no end to thismethodology. Result is that we pretend to practice development policy without any aim. In other words, tit for tat which is reality. its not venegance or revenge, its support thats required to overcome the resistance and inbuilt social stigma. The change will not happen overnight but will need more time, not years but decades. The basic requirement will be education, education on caste based reservation. Now you may argue on merit, yes we need to leave merit aside to correct the social abnormalities, which if not attended now can become a monster which none would be abel to control. No offence to higher castes but the unerlying brahmin hegemony must stop.

Lalu, Mayawati, Karunanidhi etc. are from lower caste only and they only rule and spoil India by not uplifting people and driving wedges between people.

Lalu, Mayawati or Karunanidhi didnt become what they are by themselves, people of India made them that they are, for good or bad of it, so dont balme them.
caste based education reservation is must for India to develop as a whole so that irresponsible politicians are not elected by people of india.
btw, casteism is not practiced by the downtrodden n poor ones but by the rich and super rich people who feel threatened...

Because of disunity through casete, muilm and chrtn decoits and robbers ruled us for centuries. Though we realized it and are becmming stronger and stronger and though decoits and robbers are now irrepairably weaker, we shold never give them a change even to think harm to us. Simply said do not again create caste feelings through this type of idiotic census.
Before arguing whether it is appropriate to include caste in census we should honestly admit that caste is a reality in Indian society .Our society is deeply divided if not fragmented on basis of caste. The situation takes a more grim picture when it is keenly observed that the people in general form lower castes are more backward in terms of education and economic well being .So for democratic system like ours it is the duty of the government to introduce policies which can help to alleviate the backwardness of the people who were not treated at par for centuries .Now for the government to formulate and to execute such policies it should know in every detail the exact beneficiary and the extent to which these policies should continue and this can only be done when we have the exact numbers of the targeted people. So in my view there is no harm in including caste in census but there is one word of caution here that we as citizens of India have a duty of not letting politicians to use this as a tool for divisive politics . This can only be done if we use our right to vote wisely and not pandering to emotional blackmail by petty politicians.

Nehru learned all triks which are required to rule a country. Divide hin d oooos and pamper minority is main pillar of this policy and nehru and his clan successfully used it.

With these caste system all will know that people getting reservation from past decades have gone up, and people of upper caste are now at bottom.
we all abuse Leaders, like every ne says leaders are illerate, they are Gunda, they are so snd so etc... But think who can lead or who can change the society - Who has strength, self confidance and brain. Any Gund, dada or that type of natured people have this that is why they become leaders in the market or society. We the rest people who are more selfish then these think that for our own benifits these people should work as per our wish why ??? when they have guts they have confidance they have art to geather people in their favour then why they should listen our voice . I am against of this. We are crying today that we should not count cast wise why not ?? what is wrong on that ? What fear you have ?? you have a fear that politician will do this ir that if cast politics is there. Nothing will happen believe me India is not united , it is just to show that we are united. otherwise even a single family is not united in India except Muslims , they are only united no other cast comuunity is united in India. So let the people should be counted on cast basis also.
