Our country is already divided by so many politicians and now including this caste based census will further stunt the efforts to integrate our country with so much of diversities. All right thinking persons should oppose this move. The politicians keep on raising some confusion or other so that their career and benefits remain unchanged. The fact that our country was divided on the basis of religion and later dividing states on language basis itself was wrong and giving reservation endlessly to persons has further created more problems. The reservation never reached the people who were/are in dire need of it, instead pocketed by affluent among so called depressed classes. If our country leaves this caste and language politics and provide all necessary help to the needy, then our country will surpass any other Nation.

caste is a probelm in our society and we are discussing to solve this problem mad man. Your relgins are akward and sinfil and are worse than hindu rel. We can nt go from bad to worst. siners have no place to advice us. It is our problem and not siners like yours. solve your problem befor advicing us.
This "OUR READERS" are only those people of India who know English,have access to electricity, computer, internet; and have spare time to comment on this issue rather than worry about next meal. Off course there opinion is as valuable as that of any one else. But let the census be on Caste basis. All those who are against such a census, are free not to divulge their caste; but they should not impose their aggressive will on the meek and silent types. If majority feels that it is bad, caste column in the census will be found vacant.
No thinkers or leaders only filthy representatives or feudal politicos ,most of them rustic illiterates thats the reason why such stone-age issues gets importance at all.
from the identity of their castes continue to have the privilege of enjoying the status of belonging to 'superior castes'. Let all those who belong to supposedly lower castes acknowledge the 'superiority' of the upper castes without demur.
The only little condition for all this ought to be that wealth (primarily land ownership) is to be re-distributed equitably among all without the slightest bit of privilege to anyone !!
This Country is already virtually divided , See what is happening in Haryana - mirchpur where the Dalits houses were Brunt , and they were taking shelter in Delhi , Caste is a Propoganda by few privileged to take away the entire cake without sharing it with others , Reservation gives these backward people enough economic power to eat/cloth/educate themselves as other so called upper caste people. This is the only good thing these politicians are doing! rest of all they do is just to plunder the country. Caste based census would give a clear idea of who is backward in this country and Why we need reservation for another 500 Years in this Socially discriminating society.I fully suppport caste based census.

You are totally wrong. Reservations are misused amonst people who are already having more than enough to eat/clothe/educate. For example, why should an IAS Officer or a Minister enjoy benefits of reservations? By encouraging reservations a wedge is further being put into the already divided society. The only was that the Govt should go is by helping on the basis of economic backwardness. It is time that the column "caste" is totally removed.
I think caste census shud be done as it wud identify brahmins as minority and would make them eligible for reservation..as all these years the population of sc, st has risen beyond control.
To give adequate proportion of their strength to SC/ST/OBC AND MINORITIES IN SERVICES,power and to provide benefits to uplift these peoples those are far behind, hence CASTE BASE Census is must.

Do you really think that upliftment should be based on caste? I thought it should be based on economic status. Also do you really think people enjoying the benefits of being part of a so-called backward caste would ever choose to be part of a higher caste given a choice?
