subcastes should be included in the caste based census....each caste has several subcastes and each subcaste has several sub-subcastes....all these SHOULD and MUST be included!!!
Caste in census is useful for politics only and the use stops there.Census is all about counting number of ones citizens and I fail to understand why we count no. of Christians, Hindus, Jains, Buddhist etc. Instead Govt would do well if they count the number of illegal settlers!

This is a necessary input for the country's managers in different areas, particularly general administration, police, social departments of govt. etc. It has become a fashion to deride caste. Even, Govt. encourages inter-caste marriages. This is silly and is against God's orders in Sanatana Dharma. In Gita, God says, I have created these four castes( 'chaturvarnam mayaa shrushtam'). Caste consideration is very very important. It depicts a man's characteristics and character etc. In Manusmriti and other scriptures, there are rules on the basis of castes. These rules are for the good and well being of the society. Ignoring caste consideration completely, will lead to 'vyavichaara' and 'pramaada'. So, let there be statistics of castes in this country. That help us in many ways. Why should it divide the country or partition it? We do follow the scriptures in matters of marriages, births, deaths etc. These are prescribed by God himself. In Bhagwat Mahapurana, God says, I appeared as Manu and wrote the Manusmriti. That is the level, that is the importance of the caste differentiation. Once we know that it is God's orders, then, one will dare to disobey it only at his peril, may it be Prime Minister, President or any one else. So, be careful about it and stop this campaign. It is against God.JAYA JAYA SHRI KRUSHNA! HARI BOL!
subcastes are more important than the castes.....take the census to the root of the caste system from the lowermost caste within a caste to the highermost one!!!!!!
I am totally against this Census. Let all Indians get united and pledge NOT to vote those politicians who play the caste game and try to divide the common people.

we definately need to count people on the caste basis then we will know actually do we need the reservations. The upper caste people didnt think previously when they were heading the system. Now when everyone is demanding equal rights suddenly they are feeling that they are indian.Still today, educated people who are of higher caste keep boasting about their ways..& think low of other caste people.
Yes. Government mus include caste in current census drive otherwise it should stop caste based reservations or data collections on minority deevelopment and package to minority domonated districts. I strongly support caste census and then let Government decided what it want to do and in which direction India is moving otherwise it should give reservation for only 10 years based on economic condition of the family and then stop it permanently thereafter as per the Constitution and not amend it to renew the same since Right To Education Bill is passed.

how about the subcastes and sub-subcastes????? even those are equally contentious....even now, within a caste, 2 people belonging to 2 different subcastes behave like aliens!!!!
Caste will always be integral part of Indian society. Even Christians and Muslims practice caste in India, it is in India's social DNA, you cant deny it.
