It is the saddest thing of the century in India History that a "Developing - Nation" which wants to play vital role in international arena, the one which talks of globalization is itself divided into narrow caste lines. There are much bigger problems in this country which needs to be handled by great leaders irrespective of their cultural background, caste, creed, color and religion. Are we preparing ourselves as integrated nation? Or we are looking forward to have 30 and many more individual nations all fighting and killing the mother India.

OPEN any newspaper and 'ordinary' people like u (and NOT politicians) want a prospecpective partner for marriage of their son/daughter from the same caste Only..Its the truth why hide it ?.nned..pe..
even if its abolished/banned people will still practise IT..FACE IT AND KNOW THE TRUTH!
The Indian politicians will not rest till this country goes to dogs. They will divide this country based on religion, caste and sub-caste and run away with their loot.

We don't need caste or religion in our census. We should ensure only Indians are enrolled and people who have crossed the borders are kept out. Yesterday I read "Povery Nips his MBBS hopes" a news in Deccan Herald ( dt 3/6/10) Manjunath born in backward place Uppugunte in Kolar born to agriculture worker. He got 93.4% in PU science stream and CAT rank 3374 good enough for medical seat in Govt Medical college. But his parents cannot afford ( also lost his brother last week) We (Govt) should ensure he is able to continue his medical education. He comes from backward community and from backward region and has no means. But he can't study These kind of meritorius kids have to be supported. All our caste based reservations help only rich and so called/certified SC/ST or OBC but not meritorius boy like Manjunath and that alone will ensure social/natural justice.Can caste based reservation enable him to study medicine? Let us think it over and ensure Manjunaths are not left out for want of money though he is also backward region/backward community boy
I will try to list down when my caste is of use to me.As such when I marry but that is a personal problem.At that time I feel that during application caste column has to be filled,Next is during school admission.Next when I get a school leaving certificate and admission to college.When I die no one asks my caste at the crmatorium or at the bank when I have to start an account or for passport,ration card or PAN card caste is not required.Also when I get an appointment letter caste is not mentioned.Caste certificate is required if I have to get any previlege from Municipality,State govt or central govt.So it means that the govt is desirous to know the caste inorder to 1) Look at the prevalence of Intercaste marriage 2) Education levels in various castes and subcasts and 3) To study the likely amount of money required for assisting th backward classes in next 5 to 10 years.Thus although it is likely to hurt many sentiments of true indians who do not believe in casts it may be useful to plan creating a classless society assuming that the two are same that lower caste people are poor.This is not so Government is confusing class with caste purposefully to gain political advantage during elections because they can know the cast prevalences based on analysis of Marriage Data or Data from their Education departments at state and municipalities in cities and towns.We cannot afford this additional data generation as analysis is not going to yeild anything to anyone in long run.
In india there are thousands of cast,creeds,religions,faiths,thoughts but have single problem poverty,lack of education,jobs for unemployed,homeless people,deaths due to hunger irrespective of cast, creed ,faith ect let us move forward and not about mandal& kamndal.Think out of box to make this country and world beautifull.THIS IS OUR MOTHERLAND AND IT IS OUR DUTY TO SERVE UNDERPREVILEGED OF THIS COUNTRY INSTEAD OF MAKING FUTILE EXCERCISES.
