You mean hope to get captured by CHINA and get captured by PAKISTAN ?
I have in living in US for 10 yrs now and I pay only 80-100 USD for a nice hotel. But in India I pay 7500INR (~150USD)but get very poor service. This is true that you have to pay huge amt in India to get even ordinary service. I think this is because of lots of corrupt people and uneducated people earning millions by corrupttion. Any way I think it will take atleast 50-100 years when we can expect a descent service in Indian 5 star hotels. Cheers!!!!!!!!

how much u paid in the hotel in US? If u pay same price as Taj (10000INR) that is 200USD in US hotels u will get 100000000000000000000 times better service than Taj. In India u ve to pay lot more for even ordinary basic services.

I have to agree that indian hotels are exorbitantly priced. I took a one night stay at Taj Residency in Bangalore and had to pay up 10K , and that was the discounted price. They marked it down from 16k. However i cannot complain about the services. It was good but i think over 10K for a Taj is above the norm.
Many US hotels have no service whatsoever. Bell boys are very rare. If you call the front desk, you have to hold for 15 to 20 minutes and then again to get something sent to rooms another 20-25 minutes.
Carpets in most hotels are dirty and quite beaten up. You get only strong smell of cleaning lotions in the hallways as well as rooms.
Even if the so called guest is old, even then there is no help to take luggages to and from the room.
The stff at the counter are the least courteous by US standards.
I have not seen a cockroach anywhere in the US except hotel rooms.
This is true in in some star hotels in the busy cities.

Having stayed in the US for over 6 yrs now and travelled extensively locally in US, I can safely say that the hotels that fall under the $80-125/night bracket Suck at their services. As mentioned above, the front desk is unapproachable, the food pathetic and limited by time, the rooms are not great in terms of cleanliness and almost everything is charged for! That doesn't mean the hotels in India are perfect, but praising the hotels in the states doesn't prove your point either!

need change in politics need change in laws need change in democracy need changes in people's mind look your city as your home and make your home clean and city clean..
The abnormally high cost of land & corruption at all levels in govt agencies is also responsible for such high room tariff. This has made most young foreign tourist skip India who llok for a decent hygenic living in respectable location in the range of 50-75$ per day with breakfast. The so called 5 starts in india are nothing but deluxe hotels catering to business traffic or corrupt officials willing to squander illgotten wealth.

Indian Hotels are quite expensive - especially the ones near Airports. The value for money is not there.
