This is sufficient proof that you have never been to the US. I am sure that you watch the travel channel and tell people you have been to that country.
Where there is a problem, solution do exist, we Indian were passing through the bad time and management, I personally feel there are huge changes could be seen from 2007-2010. Jai Hind Jai Bharat!!!!!!!!!

Come on man, not washing hands after toilet is prevalent in US/ UK and is considered a bad habit, however infrastrures and bad hotels is the topic of discussion not PERSONAL HYGINE !!

yes, you are right, i dont deny that. cleanliness of facilities will come if personal hygiene is maintained. people should know washing hands is a necessity.. in many eateries the waiter goes to toilet which doesnt have soap and next moment he is serving food...

Dude.....Indian culture teaches the maximum hygiene in the world. The english ppl use paper but we wash. The topic is abt hotels so lets discuss that only
I don't understand why we cannot keep our bathrooms clean. Even in US a high priced Indians restaurants bathrroms stink compared to the bathrooms in McDonald's. For some reason we totally neglect our bathrroms and unless we stop doing that or hotels/restaurants cannot be clean.
During my business tours ,I often stay in 5 star hotels in China with sprawling areas, beautiful surroundings, world class hospitality at a cost of about Rs.2000 per night...Can we imagine this in India?
A common man can go to sauna/steam bath and jaccuzzi by paying about Rs.140 for unlimited time..can we imagine that in India !!
Except for very few places in the south(Visakhapatnam/Hospet from my experience),hotel facilities are very poor in India. The worst places are Kolkata,Mumbai,Delhi,Surat,Guwahati,Chennai,etc...

I feel sadness to read all this.I have found the best hotels in that accursed place called Jammu&Kashmir, very comfortable and reasonable rates.Very sad to learn about the same in india.

completely off-topic, but just wanted to comment on the reference to IT coolie ... actually I wont claim I know everything about IT but specifically in IT services companies pretty much everyone from the highest earning to the lowest earning individual is pretty much like a servant on stand by to serve the 'business' or sponsor or customer... I somehow feel if only other sectors/industries / government treat / serve customers like that this world would have been a better place
