this alienation if with mallu's also. They form groups and seclude the other states people. I never find such stuff in Gurgoan/Noida however this is so much prevalent in Bangalore; Tamil, Telgu, Mallu and kannad, they make groups and stick to themselves. And the reason I find for this is the that their conversation platform is different i.e. Tamils won't talk in kannada, malyali or telgu and so on for others. In Noida/Gurgoan, UPs, Bihari, Haryani, Punjabis, Rajsthani, Himachali, MPs all talk in hindi of its variant and thats the reason they can mix so well. No wonder Hindi is a language that bind people and does not seclude others.

To which state do you belong. Your comments shows how your ethics are. What wrong if they speak in their mother tongue. You can speak in Hindi, but they cant speak in Tamil. Is this are you expecting? Dont try to dominate. Thats the reason that most of the south Indians are holding top positions for most of the companies. You always feel that your race(North) is always best. You have the right to feel. But dont degrade others(south). Thats the very reason that south Indians have script for all of their languages unlike North. Language is not a barrier these days as every one is using for universal language.(Except where mother tongue is so essential to express clearly). Be united. Dont show your horns. some one will break your horns.

Jai Hind!!!

Don't divide the people on the basis of language. It is quite natural that people when see their own community speak in their language. This is the case for everyone whether they are Telugus, Tamils, Malayalees, Kannadigas, Marathi, Hindi, everywhere. For ex. labourers from backwards States of Bihar, UP, Orissa, Jharkand, Chattisgarh work in Southern States. But they never tried to speak in the local language.

Agree with you on T-gang . Also had bad experience working with Bengalis, they do lot of lobbying even at onsite where you have less onsite colleagues.
I have always worked outside my home state and am quite open minded easy going person.

Internet access in office
by CAMPU COTIYA on Dec 21, 2010 12:48 PM  | Hide replies

while social networking and chat rooms should be banned, other sites such as banks, insurance, govt tax payments and informational sites such as wikipedia should be kept open.

Many companies block gmail. Instead they should monitor only. If something is blocked, employees feel insecure. A company can always monitor and protect sensitive data. Then why block??

Also share trading sites are blocked, citing employee productivity issues. Why dont companies understand that if employee gains through shares, he/she will not ask for raise. Its that simple.

Many employees travel to office by personal vehicle. Companies dont even understand that they need a nearby garage in case their vehicle fails.

In india, Companies are run with strict discipline and social life is without discipline.

Indians are really very very unlucky.

While recession, HR can create policies to lay off emplyees. They can again reamend the same policies to retain people to tackle attrition. HR policies are nothing but tailor made to benefit the management. I can give a plain expample.

My company had laid off employees, however they realized their mistake and in recession of 2008, they didnt fire a single employee.

We all beared variable pay cut and no raise paying for transport which was free. But no one was fired.

Kudos management.... at least they learnt from mistakes

Software company "AXE N CHOR" is still in recession mode. HR reps have very much in the same attitude.

Good profits but Indian operations are screwed

Inside news is that there will be no promotion in "AXE N CHOR" FOR NEXT THREE YEARS.

Check out this company people posting their experiences about it by doing google search for "Accenture topix forum" Thriller of a forum

I am betting that the same HR would lax all the above right now as they need more "resoruces" to get the projects done.

Once recession hits again all the rules will be suddenly "effectively immediately".

Do remember that above listed rules are only for worker drones, CEOs and the board can get away with pretty much everything.
