Please dont single out Tamils. It happens in every state in India. And politicians have an interest in this when no people like Chidambaram and the Thackerays look at Indians as foreigners within the country.

hey it is very easy to comment but coming to the practical world no one does it intentionally but it happens. Like "blood identifying its own blood". there is always a soft corner for same culture. This is whats happening in work culturealso we term it as "politics within the organization"
For the gods of the companies, managers are always right & individuals are wrong. If companies accept managers are wrong, then they invite legal trouble either from individual or manager , it may lead to fall of stock & finally it may set a precedent to other individuals to fight their managers. So, it is a lost case to fight upstream.
The article is flawed & does not seperate ethical issues from legal issues. Nobody can be tracked in seconds in US having SSN. Also, employers cannot legally force bond labour contracts. Most employments are at will.
The reality of capitalism (applies to both India & US) is, the employers cash on fear factor & many employees have no strength to fight discrimination, injustice & harassment.
The US, once a symbol or freedom & liberty, according to research data, has employees who fear to take 1 hr lunch.
Salary raise, promotions is a function of attrition today. Many US employees are given harsh messages everyday & days of equality are gone. Jobs offshored from US to India get promotions, raises & praises regardless of productivity. When I hear harassment stories from India from harassed employees, I wonder whoever says laws, policies & freedom exists. If you take your case to HR, many do turn the equations against you. After all, legally every data proof is with the company & you cannot legally take any data to fight a legal case. They can terminate you for taking a empty sheet of paper in your pocket & you cannot prove voyerism even if they tracked you on camera, email, phones etc.

It is important the directors/GMs/group heads sincerely adhere and follow the same policies as applicable to the employees. The it is easy to implement and take action for the violation..but are they ???

As long its Tamil you can speak any language..Right senth?
Also, because it gives an edge over other non-tamilians it is desirable that it should be Tamil conversation. Hindi speaking guys are no different either. By the way, did you ever wonder why your American couterparts failed to understand you.
speak in their language in official meetings, it helps express some points more clearly. Thats all. Helping fellow Tamilians is not wrong either, dont take it otherwise.
