This article has compelled me into buying the book.I have just bought the book and am done with first few pages. He's mentioned about his classmate and wife anusha(ananya swaminathan in the book),as if she is the gorgeous south indian lady.Out of curiosity,I've googled for her picture and found her less-than-disgusting-and-more-than-unappealing sort. She should have refrained from wearing those western outfits because I thought she would be okay in a saree.I feel chetan has poor aesthetic sense unlike his sense of humour.

Chetan may not need any marketing. But wow, wait! By far the best English author? Haven't you heard the name R.K.Narayan? Please, don't even compare...

Well, he is definitely not the best (not even among best 10 ) India based English author, but he is definitely the most successful (from a sales figure point of view). And definitely just the name Chetan Bhagat sells more copies than Jhumpa Lahiri or Kiran Desai (the reason may be anything but at the end ofthe day you cant ignore the sales figure)
2 States rocked. It made me giggle several times and the book had the right tempo maintained all through which resulted in its success. The topic is such a nice selection, as it has been an evergreen one right out in every family, taking it as an example. Kudos to you Chetan, and wish to see more books from your end. You rock
But he's getting monotonous...how much narcissism can one tolerate about his own life?...some college kids think he's great coz they hardly hav any reading habit and have never encountered anything really great...

He writes basically for college students and 20 something yuppies. Do you really beleive that working professionals in their twenties would like to read Jane Austen or Salman Rushdie stuff after hectic 12 hours at office? 90% of them wont. He is definitely not a great author from a literary connoisseur's point of view but he knows what his target readers like to read and as long as they can relate to his writings his books keep on selling

Well said Kaustubh Saha. I am not a big fan of Chetan Bhagat the litterateur, but I can relate to what he writes about totally. And that to me is a sublime experience.
I liked this book. Good sense of humour. Enjoyed reading. Didnot like One night @ call center. 5 point some one was ok, 3 mistakes was better and this one, I simply loved because of the humour
