Good tips
by airody adiga on May 30, 2009 07:26 PM  | Hide replies

Yes, sometimes I feel that we show the Indianness everywhere by speaking/laughing/singing loudly, littering and showing indiscipline in public places, tourist spots and shopping places. After all its their place. Be Roman while in Rome. Things are not reserved for minority people everywhere like in India. Isn't it?

AUSTRALIANS ARE BULLIES
by Arjun bharatiya on May 30, 2009 07:12 PM  | Hide replies

The attacks on Indian students in Australia is utterly deplorable and condemnable.
Australians are racist or not I am not sure BUT THEY ARE PREJUDICED.
They are heavily prejudiced against Indians in particular and non-whites in general. There have recently been allegations of racism against Australians by the CEO of TELSTRA who is a Mexican, and he alleges descrimination and unfair treatment at workplace.
In spite of this huge recent uproar in India, no news channel or internet portal in Australia has given any coverage to these heinous episodes of repeated violence against unprovoking peace-loving Indian students. However Australian media repeatedly shows news that shows India & Indians in bad light. Slum-dog millionaire was watched and enjoyed by majority of Australians as they wanted to see Mumbai-India slums. Razing of shanties of Slum-Dog actors was a big news in all aussie papers/ TV news/internet portals but the hugely successful electoral exercise in democracy was not. The worlds most successful exercise in democracy was neglected to small corners of few news-papers.
Australians are happy to see Indians as poor, filthy, uncultured people. They repeatedly call India as 'THIRD-WORLD' country.
They are generally bullies, pretty violent not only against others but against their own women & children as well. Their biggest sports teams are involved in drugs & gang-rapes of women; womenisers, criminals and thieves are national heroes and chairmen of footie-clubs.

Re: AUSTRALIANS ARE BULLIES
by Arjun bharatiya on May 30, 2009 07:29 PM
Australian cricketers were the worst bullies. When Indians paid them back in the same coin, they couldn't handle it. They have been so badly affected by defeat at the hands of Indian team that they are yet to recover as a team. Players like Symmonds have completely lost the plot since then.
Australians did not want to come to India to play tennis in spite of assurances by the ITF and AITF. They were ready to forfeit the Davis cup tie rather than come to India. Now that they are being sued by AITF to pay the losses suffered because of their refusal to play, they think it is unfair to them.
They want to pay money to Pakitan, in spite of the fact that the perptrators of Mumbai violence were from pakistan; yet they dont want to come to India to play tennis because of fear of terrorists!
Drinking, violence and crime are deeply ingrained in aussie psyche and for them being loud and bully is macho.
They dont appreciate Indian politeness and good-nature. They think of Indian humility as our weakness.
Australians MUST RESPECT INDIANS. THIS COUNTRY MUST CHANGE. If they want to do well in a free world. This is not a white dominated world any more.
Remember what Indian cricket team has done to aussie cricket team. The aussie country must learn its lesson. Indians dont react to insignificant things are we are very hard working and focussed people for our own various reasons. BUT IF RUBBED THE WRONG WAY INDIANS WILL TEACH YOU BULLIES A LESSON FOR LIFE.

TIMID
by madanmohan siddhanthi on May 30, 2009 07:10 PM

when you are in a foreign ountry - you tend to be a bit timid. Also many of the places logic does not work.
Historically if you see -we were ruled by British for over 200 years and often treated like slaves .Then came independance , in no time you were taken over by politicians - and good number of them Criminals and are very well supporteed by Thugs /Goondas , with result a common man is afraid to raise his voice so much so in future we will get allcowards in the nation.
When you are in a foreign country - particularly the representatvies of our country , how often they meet the students - atleast where there is a major number .What sort of assurance and confidance they give.No they are all there to enjoy at the countries cost .Yes! they have no time.
My heartfelt sympathies for the victims . Identfy areas where such incidences occur avoid them .Next avoid holiday spots for young people who gather for drinking and browling .
Look at the Australian history - they say the criminals of English were deported there. David Hookes a cricketer was killed in a brawl .So many cricketers were involved in fighting in clubs ,pubs etc .Looks like itis their culture.

Australia dont allow India to dictate in your internal matter!
by girish rao on May 30, 2009 06:51 PM  | Hide replies

A mob has attacked a group of people, this can happen in any part of world. This is purely Australian govts law & order problem.India cannot interfere in another country's law & order problem.

Many foreigners are attacked in India,is those countries calling our PM & raising that issue?
this knee jerk reaction of congress govt is childish!

Why is that Telugu guys are attacked everywhere in world, they were attacked in USA, now in Australia.
So we also have to find out what this telugu guys did to provoke this attacks.
If high handed behaviour of telugu guys invited the wrath of local people, then we cant blame aussies or americans for attacking this telugu guys.
Telugu guys should behave properly when they are in another country.
Let the AP govt issue a travel advisary for telugu people going abroad for study or work to follow some basic behaviours, when they are going out of Andhra Pradesh.

Very True. Many Indians (Should I say AP guys) speak in native language in public places. Indians do not observe law and customs of the locals and hence invite their wrath. There attitude towards others also creates this type of situation.

attacks on foreigners
by sreenivasch on May 30, 2009 06:51 PM

Let me tell you one thing, when foreigners were attacked in India, what was the reaction of Indians, everybody were asamed about the incidents happened, even in Austrialia, when the things are happening there against Indians( we dont know, whether only Indians are targetted, might be other countries citizens are also targeted, definetely Austrialians also may be feeling a kind of shamefulness, unless and until, they are not human beings, let us ask them to find a solution instead of blaming them for the cause.

a lot of stupid advice
by TheWholeWorldStinks TheWholeWorldStinks on May 30, 2009 06:30 PM  | Hide replies

we have been seeing a lot of stupid messages

stupidity no. 1) because indians fight among themselves, they do not have a right to complaint -

there cannot be something more stupid. just because a few people (out of 1.15 billion) fight in name of religion or north-south or for languages, it does not mean white racist aussies are justified in attacking indians.

stupdity no. 2) white people do not like other talking in their native languages, or talking loudly, or not saying "sorry sir, thank you sir, welcome sir.." after every piss they take, indians are attacked.

the attacks are just because some oafs feel that are coming from other countries and are taking away their jobs, or are working at lower wages and are increasing competition in labour market.

it is pure racism and criminality and nothing else, whatever name is given to it.

stupidity no. 3) we should be careful and not travel alone and not travel at night and not talk among ourselves and generally, be frightened and live like scared rabbits.

whatever you do is not going to convince the racist white criminal aussies that you are good people.

JUST KEEP AWAY FROM COUNTRY OVERFLOWING WITH SUCH FILTHY PEOPLE.

IT IS AN UNSAFE PLACE AND SHOULD BE AVOIDED AT ANY COST.

When some Northies are attacked in Aus, there is so much protest in India. But when thousands of Tamil die in Sri Lanka, there is not even a whisper. I feel, the Northies are more of racists than the Ausies.

wWhen 30,000 civilians where massacared by the Srilankan army,Indian govt,Indian media & most Indians where least botherd abt it,whereas the European countries condenmed that genocide.

Now why should anybody bother if few Indians get attacked due to their high handed behaviour when they are living in another country?
when Indians dont respect other peoples life, nobody is botherd if another 26/11 type attack is carried out on India & many Indians are killed.

no way. understand that whatever happens in sri lanka is their internal matter. how would you like china marching into our country during our hindu-muslim riots? bad things happen everywhere and we as a nation should only worry about our citizens.

also, the kids who were attacked in australia are telugu speaking. get your facts straight. the most important thing is they are indians and we should show our support in condemning such racial intolerance.

yup i have seen one thing sharma is attacked and another taxi driver is attacked they are makingbig noice..and these are illegal students..not that scholarship winning students..so no one has invited them..they are making issues out in australia and here we like a fool and getting carried away..
Point is why were only indians attacked ..could be 2 reasons ..
1 they were not in fault it coud have been a rascist attack or ..it could have been a oppurtunistic attack..

2 they were in fault .cause they had some bad manners they were provocative

3 possiblity which i think is just we are making unecessary noise.

well said! when 20,000 civilians got massacared by the srilankan army.Indian govt,Indian media didnt even utter a word.
Now when few mischief mongers got fitting reply from Aussies,Indian govt is raising hue & cry. Australia should strictly tell India not to interfere in its internal matter.
Australian govt should conduct an enquiry on this Indians & find out wt provocation they did against australians.
Australia should not allow India to dictate in its internal matter!

Root cause
by sachin gawade on May 30, 2009 06:11 PM

The way we are brought up in India is the root cause of this whole incidence. In India we are brought up fearing the police and not getting involved in any police issues. Here is Australia no body gives a fk to the police. You spit on them anf they wont even touch you. But we are unaware of all this in Australia. When attacked you dont know whether you should retaliate or sit quite thinking you might land up into trouble to hurting someone. But the fact is police dont care unless it is a big issue. If some bashes you and is caught all he gets is a warning. If you show as if you are a threat to these people they wont harm you. Be ready to fight just in case. Grab anything in hand and hit them hard or just show you are ready for the fight. Just because they know you wont retaliate they pounce on you and we just take it helplessly
