On indian mentality
by ashish agrawal on May 30, 2009 06:02 PM

We have witnessed the change in the india and australia cricket rivallry over the last few years now indian players are also giving australians eye for an eye we have seen it in Harbhajan , shrishant and ishant sharma so we do not need to get bogged down by such incidents in anyway all the students and people who are living in the australia must come together to protest against such incident and let the people of the australia and their government realise that it can tarnish their image at the international level and it will not give a good name to the austarlia.

It is foolishness to go all the way to othercountries and get insulted. When there are so many better institutes avialable in India. I saw several Indians behave like a culprits when they are in other coutries. They may reject green card etc., etc., things keeping in brain. What is the fun of being a second class citizen and licking aroung foriegner. These type of people only get bad name to India and get insulted. Shameless work.

India cant dictate to Australia on its internal matter
by karuna karan on May 30, 2009 05:53 PM  | Hide replies

mob has attacked a group of people, this can happen in any part of world. This is purely Australian govts law & order problem.India cannot interfere in another country's law & order problem.

Many foreigners are attacked in India,is those countries calling our PM & raising that issue?
this knee jerk reaction of congress govt is childish!
Why is that Telugu guys are attacked everywhere in world, they were attacked in USA, now in Australia.

So we also have to find out what this telugu guys did to provoke this attacks.
If high handed behaviour of telugu guys invited the wrath of local people, then we cant blame aussies or americans for attacking this telugu guys.
Telugu guys should behave properly when they are in another country.
Let the AP govt issue a travel advisary for telugu people going abroad for study or work to follow some basic behaviours, when they are going out of Andhra Pradesh.

New Distinations

Students and parents enough is enough!!! Please see some other destinations for studies, don’t go to destinations like Australia/US/UK and create a problem for yourself and your family and to your Govt !!?we know its fire why put our hand in it!!!
New Destinations like Ireland, Iceland, Norway, Poland, Greece, Denmark, GreenLand, Sweden, Switzerland though most of these nations aren’t English speaking nations but you definitely can’t expect the treatment which you had in Australia

Going to Australia for higher studies
by Vishu Menon on May 30, 2009 05:37 PM  | Hide replies

Aiming for "higher studies" in an island that was used by the British to send rogues on exile? You think their great-grand children will give you "good education"? Come on, give me a break. If you are thinking of a good job after a fine eductation, stick to India,

Suggestions above
by akashdeep gill on May 30, 2009 05:30 PM

Apart from Hemant's view all other comments above are crap & display cowardice. He is right, that if you just talk about how to avoid these things, it won't be long when you are not even safe in your own home. Don't talk in other language, & don't talk loudly? What's next? Is it our fault if we can speak more than one language & they can't?
First thing is we must unite as a community over there, & protest against any small incidence of this sort in front of Media & Government buildings.
Second & more important thing is that Indian Government should make itself of some use for a change! If they are claiming that we are strong for votes, they should display it to protect their citizens. Why is it not happening with Chineese or Arab students? Because their governments will repsond immediately & strongly. And, also because they themselve will not take such nonsense for granted.
