lucky ones(contd)
by Tessy Stanley on May 01, 2010 07:22 PM

People from all sections join the army. I for one give anything to be in the army. The profession that I am in now can be said as one of the most rewarding, but still I want to be in the army. Aree guys, koi mere saamne aake faujiyon k khilaf kuch bol k dekhe...wardi pehen k, seena taanke, maut ki taraf kadam badhaye jaana sabke bas ki baat nahi hai. All those who criticize the soldiers...do u have it in you? Do you have it in you to "live by chance, love by choice and kill by profession" all for the sake of strangers. Kisiko criticize karna, its too easy, try and get into their shoes...tab pata chalega! Bhale main fauji nahi hun, main uniform nahi daala ho...par fauji jazbaa mere me kisi fauji se kam nahi hai..."sarfroshi ki tamanna ab hamare dil mein hai...dekhna hai zor kitna baazue kaatil mein hai"......JAI HIND. JAI JAWAN.

lucky ones....

I actually can't figure out why the hell do some people hate those brave souls. Don't they understand that its because of these soldiers that we can sleep in peace and call ourselves Indians. I personally believe that any citizen that degrades or even so much as make derogatory remarks about our lines of defence or soldiers, should be tried for treason. Its really painful, to see that soldiers are not appreciated for their efforts. We all have friends, how many of our friends will leave their families, spend sleepless nights or take a bullet for us. But, these soldiers, they don't even know us but still are ever ready to face all, all for our sake. When soldiers do make mistakes, people go about cursing them and what not...what about when extremists etc hurt...what then? I think it happens only here that some people can spit curses on the defence forces and still be free...ungrateful swines. I am a girl and have always dreamt of joining the defence forces. Even now I look for ways to get into the defence forces...but because of age restrictions I m not able to do so. But I still am trying for TA. Someone earlier said that people who can't do anything join the army. Well there is a reality check...unemployed people who had no resources to study beyond matriculation, or 2...who will employ them and let them support their families...well its the indian defence forces. People might go there as losers(maybe) but once they are in...they come out leaders and winners at that...co

indian armed forces is not same.neither he gives good salary nor it has same respect. No one fears indian armed forces. all our neighbours, small or big treat as non credible force. even nepal and bangaldesh donest fear us. Bangaldesh rifles fire as our forces at thier will forget about fear of backlash.Armed forces are full of corruption charges, so worse like selling petrol.disel ration dry fruit meant for soldiers in border area. We forces had excellent record in UN peackeeping that image is also tarnished with corruption charges in lebanon and rape charges in some african country.India cannt fight war so lets make it economic power. be honest citizent pay you tax honestly, stand up againt bad things in our country.be enterprenur provide employement to our huge population.let first armed forces treat his men/women ex and serving both properly then people can thing of joinng them.
June 14 was when we won kargin war, did any rembered it???we know how mumbai attack martys are getting treated.one railway constable got 500/- for bravery.....you should read story of on one NSG commando who lost his one eye..
you should go and meant family of kargil matrys to know who they are living and I am 100% sure none of you will join indian armed forces. Dont get carried away bu emotion be practical. during last to last paycomminsion some air forces soldies showed open disconsent on low salary some of them were cort marshlled. now we know they were right, have they been given back due, respect

DEAR AJIT,even some of the prostitutes earn more than a bureucrat..bt i doubt anyone wd like 2 imitate their life style.next,we indian army are nt like street dogs who keep barking at every passerby and as far our capabilities are concerned,we have proved our mettle and delivered the good when it is required.
friend when we go in any operation we are doubly sure that hundreds of them are there to look after our family.dear we don't look for materialistic gains because we deal with the lives...so corruption is of no question man..
It was my small effort to change your outlook towards the life...but one request pls don't write such immature comments,it's hurts the sentiments of soldiers serving in adverse weather conditions...anyway

HI AJIT, THIS IS MADHU. i read ur mesg, but i m disappointed. first of all i would like to tell u that armed forces is something v. different from the way you are thinking. sorry to say but if you are thinking in terms of money, dont join defence forces, its my request.for earning money there are a lot of other fields.today also armed forces still command a greater respect than any other field. as far as kargil war is concerned, no one has forgotten it.its just that we cant stop our life for anything.there are poeple who homage to martyrs on vijay diwas. that pain is still in our hearts & we salute d spirit of indian army. talking of mumbai attack, let me tell you that after attack, a lot of youngsters have been inspired to join indian army & i am one of them, but unfortunately cant do it. i will say u only this dat if u really want 2 know about army, go and talk to an army officer & you will know how mad they are about dying for their country & not for earning money. so its not tha people have forgotten the sacrifices of our brave soldiers, but its only this that we have to move on with our lives.

Hi Madhu. I am glad that you think like this for Army. I am die hard fan of Indian army. When I read the article of ajit I was not happy and I thought atleast respect what they are doing......My father was in army he died in Assam while a opertaion with ulfa terriost. My both uncle they are in army no one feel the proud once the body of the indian soldier came back to there house everyone was crying. Sometime we cant see the faces of those bodies you know why becuase the condition was so bad we cant see the faces of our own heroes. Let me tell you story of one of my neighbour. He was in Kumaon regiment and they was deployed in kargil. on the 8th day of kargil war a news came that he is died with the fight with terrorist in kargil. Nody came after 6 days and once we saw the body we was scared the body was so horrible...The army solider who came with the body told that there was 27 bullets in the body. You can understand there was no part on the body without a hole. The real proud feel at the time when army solider give you the 11 bullet salute and the couffin coered with tricolour....I tried for army even I was selected for N.D.A but I meet an accident and i am medical and physical unfit for army. My younger brother is selected in N.D.A. i am proud that he is there. I will not cry if he died in battel at that time I feel proud he died for me, for my family for my neighbour for my city for my state and the main thing is he Died for MY country "India".

I read all the messages that shows an Anty Army attitude. This attitude is disappointing,if any Indian citizens have such a Sick & antination thought. I want to ask such all people that, are you having good infrastructure, good food, education & any aspect of your day to day life corruptin free? does your Honest paying of taxes assure for any betterment? You know the answer.because here comes the pollitics!Decorrupt & treat your mind for your thoughts which the antisocial issues 7 persons too are trying to catch.

WE ARE THE PEOPLE who can & must strengthen the nation & any teamwork solely dedicated to protect the borders, culture & dignity of INDIA.

Indian Forces are doing the great work, which otherwise most of civilians hesitate to.

And afterall there is only 1 point that if you can not be a soldier, protect the borders in severely bad conditions,do not disencourage others.Do not spread sush messages that can damage the Indian moral.Every indian must think of the 'Nation first' besides their religion, language, caste& creed.THE person/persons are shame & must be prosecuted, for whom tops the priority by Any other thing.Draw out your anger for the corrupt polliticians & not others.Because these are the people which can really be made to correct the things.

Jai Jawan,Jai Kisan

Jai Hind!Vande Mataram!

Had they been not scared of Indian Army and the Indian lines of defence...toh ab tak chini, nepali bangladeshi, shaam ka khana hamaare gharon me khate...study history...1965,1971...If our soldiers don't retaliate...its because of us...its because of our political system. War is a word that boils our blood...but think about the innocent blood that will be shed, the financial fluctuations that will affect the share market, value of indian rupee will go down, taxation on citizens, and its not only soldier who die in battles...civillians die too. These soldiers who die at these silly cross border shooting stunts and still retaliate is because they are strong enough to follow orders and don't want to burden the nation with a war. We say the govt. is not doing anything for the martyrs, guys we make this govt. How many of us have ever tried to go and visit Capt. Vikram Batra's home or as a matter of fact any of the homes of the martyrs. Let us put an example to the govt.

100 reasons not to join indian armed forces
by Guest on Jun 25, 2009 12:25 PM  | Hide replies

I am son of ex army man and what I am writting is true.I will not reveal exact location and names.I dad served indian army for 30 years and most of it in field positing inlcuding 8-10 years in kashmir. My whole family was hardcore army supporter. But I am anti-army now. There were couple of incidents while he was in army, instead of praising him for his good work , he was punished.Once he tried to stop petrol selling from army vehicles and his promotion was delayed for 6 months.I have no regret as the officer who did that died in srilanka.he lost his honiary rank coz someone hided orders/papers till he retired. I told him not to go to court as since indian army is not same old and he need not give to much value to it.Now he 58yrs old and he doenst have one leg.he was admitted to military hospital for serious illness. For shocker i got how less serious nurse/doctor were in casualty/emergency.it tool almost more that 30 mins to figure out that its serious case. After he became liitle ok, he was shifted from ICU to normal ward. things were worse there. My dad vomitted and there was no to clean it.inspite of escalation it was of not use.they said we are short of staff and we have to clean things.I asked them to shift him to another hospital if they cannt handle it, they argued with me and insulated me.his leg is amputed and he cannot get down to pick up urine pot so nurse kept urine pot next to his food plate.Forget about good salary they cannt event provide good healthcare.

dear friend, corruption is everywhere but even in such corruption there are people like your father himself, who stood against it, risking his career, his future. I don't know what exactly happened in your father's case but as for me,a civillian, I was kept at a police outpost for almost one and half hour with grevious head injury and no medical attention, all in the name of protocol. Some protocols are there that has to be followed. And in any case did you contact the higher officials about this negligence? Sometimes it is upto our own self to make mountains move. Sorry about your father.

well Mr. Pratap, i feel sorry for you and others who think like you..ur views forced me to reply in this manner.. i think i am doing this for the first time.. well u suggested to use unemployed for protecting india..it seems as if u r unemployed too and seek to join some millitant outfit across the borders..and if you feel that indian army is raping and ill treating in J&K, then i must tell u according to the statistics , the number of militants killed till day and including the wars fought on the borders has made us to be here to be in this disscussion board. Calling men in uniform,Rapists, i would say u r not less then a racist in australia, who are troubling indians, i m sure you must be senstive about that issue..so how can you forget 100 million people in india over some handful of indian students in foreign..the crux of the story is BE IT A INDIAN SOLDIER, OR YOU, OR ME, OR A INDIAN STUDENT IN FOREIGN..ALL ARE INDIANS N HUMANS, BE AN TRUE INDIAN AND FOR AN INDIAN..

Yeah Mr Pratap Shaha-great speech I must say-as great as u.I ws going through the article and i read ur views & couldnt hold myself replying, firstly i wouldnt have interacted with a person of such pathetic mind frame accompanied with little knowledge as urs & an even smaller perspective to view and interpret things.
Without wasting time i'll clarify your doubts one by one.

1. U said 'Persons who can't do anything else join army.Let me tell u that the procedure of selecting officers in the Indian Army is on the basis of SSB-which tries & tests u on ur mental, physical & leadership qualities for 5 days-such a selection procedure is followed nowhere in the entire country & probably one of the few in the world. If you do not fulfill any of the 15 Officer Like Qualities-you are shown the door.
2. Human rights-It states a lot of things- when an unkown bullet comes for u with no name on it-you really cant calculate ur moves. The militant should be protected with human rights-great-& a soldier who gets killed for a stranger like u,so that u can peacefully sleep at home with all comforts of the family-no rules to protect him.I dont think u hve stayed away from home much.
3. Kargil-Have u ever gone to kargil?-I suggest u go there once and then speak. Your lungs cry for a single breath of oxygen, operating in such altitude is close to impossible.Get the stats of kargil war-u'll know the strength of Officers who layed their lives for the country is still high.

I hve nt finished yet. You can only watch telivision and comment. nothing more than that.

Have you ever heard of temperatures as low as -60, men not seeing their families for more than a year and still not complaining and still doing their duties to the best of their abilities, hve u ever seen someones body disfigured beyond recognition due to a blast, hve u ever spent ur birthday,Diwali and Holi away from ur home, can u ever think of a time when ur wife delivers a baby who u dont get to see before dying...if not...think about it and then comment on a sensitive issue like this. Is that clear. Any further clarifications if required, give me a call..i'll clear them too.

Shame on people like u who can have a thinking like yours. And yes a few people get into doing shameful acts like u mentioned..they r probably forced for doing so by circumstances prevailing or weak state of mind like yours..but u cant blame the entire Indian Army for that. Never do that again.

Hope you have a better and matured view about us now. Take care and think before speaking next time.

joining army is not an easy thing to do. it may seem very attractive by the kind of uniform, carrying guns & may be other facilities... but its not that easy. it not only requires courage but a strong heart along with a strong mind. it seems to the general people that ya army men do get a lot of facilities, but the reality is different. they may get a lot of facilities but their life is miserable. there is no place for emotions, there is no personal life, its only professional. so joining army is not that easy. those who do it or those who have done it r really brave.people interested in joining army may clear the entrance exams but the process of their selection is too tough. so people who say these kind of things like this ki koi kamkaj nahi hai to army join karo, they should better leave this country.they are fit to be caller citizens or even humans. u people should feel ashamed of themselves. what do u think of army? its that easy... get into it and then only you can understand it. but people with such mindsets are not fit to join army. i m a girl & i really want to serve this country by joining army because of my family. and people like are making such statemets! its utter shame.
