I dont think Meira Kumar was considered for speakers post
by Fiona Lobo on May 31, 2009 02:39 PM  | Hide replies

I dont think Meira Kumar was considered for speakers post just because she is a female or a dalit leader. India has seen many dalit leaders thanks to the broadmindedness of people. You just cannot neglect dalits anymore. They must come up in life and must stand shoulder to shoulder with upper class.

Casteism and Reservations will prevail in India **till** 85% of all registered marriages are inter-caste.
Till then, Resistance is Futile.

Ms Lobo, good idealistic thinking. But, do you think that idealism matters in such choices?

I found Meira Kumar elevation as a convenience and a chance to accommodate sulking Mr.Jena, minister in UPA from Orissa and it is nothing to do with Cong-I love for SC/ST/BC/minorities welfare and empowerment. If Cong-I is really interested in empowerment let them offer PM gaddi to one of its SC/ ST/ BC/ minorities Memeber of parliament.Do the Cong-I high command has guts ????

No one is stopping dalits Ms Lobo...I have many dalit friends who are doing well in life. I fail to understand as to y dalits keep harping about what happened 5000 years ago??Do they expect Upper caste ppl to pay reparations for the mistreatment?? This sort of racist thinking on the part of dalits should go away.

rightwinger, it is the Cong-I party over 50 years of rule kept all the SC/ST/BC/ and minorities backward and used them as a big vote bank and cannon fodder to upset other rivals.
It is not the question of 5000 years ago.

What's worng if your boss is a female ?
by Fiona Lobo on May 31, 2009 02:36 PM  | Hide replies

What's worng if your boss is a female ? Why cant you accept her as you boss when it comes to profession ? Please don't be narrow minded. We must encourage weaker sections to some up in life by giving them life lines.

Why do you want to bring less qualified people to higher positions through reservations.

Why cant merit prevail. Why should people with merit be deprived of opportunities just because of their gender.

Then?
by Haramohan Ray on May 31, 2009 02:29 PM  | Hide replies

So, now the circle is complete. Many of us would remember that in 1977 Babu Jagjivan Ram left Congress, formed the CFD (Congress for Democracy) and joined the Janata government. Later, in 1980, Jagjivan led the Janata campaign but lost the election against the Congress. Now, Jagjivan's daughter is chosen by the same Congress as the Lok Sabha speaker!! Politics, as they say, makes strange bedfellows, and even stranger equations!

Every politican who left the cong come back to cong again if they not get the entry then they send their daughter/son/grandson/nise and so on.

so the cong has only party known for "Family"

Now this matter is not having a great value that Ms. Meera Kumar is a woman and will hold the speaker post, rather than its a show biz for fool Indians who had selected this party.

Why is reservation needed for women...

Is it because men/boys are more intelligent?
Is it because men are achievers and women needs a short cut to reach the destination.

Why do women need reservations??

You are so upset by foul language. But do you know how draconian is 498A & DV.

And women support these things. It is much worse.

Justice for every one. No gender biased laws.

And many corporate women use much worse language.
