Guestji,I too not a supporter of cong. But I feel they are right in ignoring the demand.Think of pranabji and his stature.A prominent leader,a Chartered accountant with long experience and a polite politician.Pl.think of the educative background of dayanidhi maran.Laluji's long experience in running the state of Bihar as CM.Knowing or not knowing Hindi is immaterial. How the communication is possible? In adult franchise getting votes is easy and maintaining the govt.needs talent. Most of the illiterate voters pledge their 5 years of life for a bottle of beer and biriyani. In this process they made others life miserable. So vote catching capacity never give credentials.Think of this then you know that your comments are unacceptable.

In 2004, It was MK, who has listed the reasons for giving cabinet berth to Dayanidhi maran.
The important reason he has given was that Dayanithi Maran knows Hindi, so that he can discuss with north indian leaders.
If you apply the same logic, then those who do not know hindi should not become a Minister

You have a point. Although lalu improved his image over the years, he was no better than Azhagiri in 2004. Both are goons, corrupt, uneducated.

So MMS should give a chance to Azhagiri so that he can reform and become good citizen.

Cabinet berths to DMK
by muthu kumar on May 22, 2009 06:59 PM  | Hide replies

The Congress has done good thing to the nation. The corrupt fellow of Balu & Raja should be kept out of the Cabinet on any account. More than Congress, the DMK needs Congress support in T.N. Don't relent Congress. Dr. MNS, please maintain your position and save your image.

But we are missing the point. It is not just corrupt MPs from TN but whole of India needs to be shunned - and there are plenty of them in all states including Delhi. People's common fight across all states is against corrupt elements and let us not trivilise it by slinging mud across one state and another.

Why not PM
by BS on May 22, 2009 06:59 PM

Just wondering why not DMK insisted on foloowing portfolioKaruna (sorry Dr.Ka.......) - Prime MinisterStalin                  &nb sp;   - Foriegn MinisterAzhagiri                  & nbsp; - Finance MinisterKanimozi                  & nbsp; - Home MinisterT R Balu                    - Railway MinisterD. Maran                    - IT MinisterIf he has any other siblings (whether legal or illegal) give them all remaining ministries.

If at all anything is left they can be given to MMS, Rahul and other congress, TC.

DMK receivin the political blow
by Sanjeevkumar Somasundaram on May 22, 2009 06:58 PM

Smart political events were happenin at the back end and everything ,to some extent, came into limelight.Karunanidhi can take advantage of tamil nadu ministry .But,he cant do the same when it comes to the biggest democratic country, india.A person who hardly knows Hindi/English cant become a minister.Besides winning the elections,Congress had done an incredible job by not letting those money hunters to crown as the minister..jai ho!!!

Congress took good decision by not allowing Azhagiri into cabinet as his name taken in murder of their own party member, above that, he does not know National Language (Hindi) and International Language (English). What will he be doing in Parliament? He might go there and sleep like earlier ministers. This is an opportunity " AAM AADMI KE BADHTE KADAM, HAR KADAM PAR BHARAT BULAND". No corruption, No criminals.

he should not give in to blackmailing as DMK in TN is dependent on his support.Their Ministers in last cabinet were synonymous to corrouption & caused great embarrasment to MMS

Alagiri's education
by p yuvaraj on May 22, 2009 06:52 PM  | Hide replies

Rabri Devi was more illiterate than Alagiri. She ruled Bihar in Lalu's absence. Why not Alagiri? That is not the real reason. It has got to do with TN CM's double standards - seeking power share in Centre, while rejecting the same for Congress in TN.

TN Congress leadership might have wanted some hint from TN CM about power sharing in TN which he would have refused outright. TN leadership might have taken this strongly with their Central leadership.

People's common fight across all states is against corrupt elements and let us not trivilise it by slinging mud across one state and another.
