Rahul Sukanya Amethi Rahul Gandhi Sukanya Case In Amethi - On 3rd December 2006, Rahul Gandhi was camping at Amethi along with 7 others including 4 foreigners (two from Britain and other two from Italy, names not known).Around 9 P.M all of them were drinking liquor at a V.I.P. guest house in a high security zone.
They had an uninvited guest, a young girl named Sukanya Devi, 24 years of age, a staunch follower of Nehru-Gandhi family and daughter of Congress worker Balram Singh.

Sukanya was looking for an opportunity to meet Rahul Gandhi since last two years and on that fateful night she able to meet him. Sukanya's family has been supporting the Congress party since the time of Nehru.

When she met Rahul he spoke to her for a couple of minutes and later he and his friends offered here liquor. Sukanya was amazed seeing all this, she was not feeling comfortable, she refused to have liquor and took permission to leave, but she was forced to stay back and drink. She kept resisting, but they r@pEd her one by one. She cried for help, but her cries fell on deaf ears. Even the security personnel preferred to remain as mute spectators.

She kept weeping all along and was threatened and asked to keep her mouth shut. She was given Rs.50,000 /-. She straightaway went to the local police station. The police refused to book any complaint and asked her to go home.

Before she could reach home, Congress workers had gathered at her house and gave a different version of the incident to her

father. They accused her of trying to seduce Rahul Gandhi. Her father Balram Singh, without giving her a chance to explain what had happened to her beat her up mercilessly. Balram Singh learnt the facts from others who were witness to the crime, but he preferred to remain quite as he did not want to challenge Rahul Gandhi and the Congress Party.

Sukanya's mother Sumitra Devi, who learnt about the whole incident immediately went with her daughter to Police HQ in Amethi. The Police officials refused to book any complaint and advised her to remain quite. She went from pillar to post pleading for justice, but no one heard her pleas.

Sumithra Devi gave a statement in a press conference with a very thin attendance and there she was confronted by Congressmen who physically assaulted both mother & daughter. On 27th December 2006 Sumithra Devi went to New Delhi to meet Sonia Gandhi. Sonia refused to meet her. With no options left she went to Human Rights Commission who just noted down her complaint and asked her to leave.

The Congressmen have threatened to kill both Sumithra Devi and her daughter Sukanya if she makes the rape issue public. Both the mother and daughter are in despair trying to seek justice. Both mother and daughter were camping in New Delhi for over a fortnight to get an appointment with the President of India. They have not got an appointment either with the President or with the Chief Justice.

Both mother and daughter are now in hiding. If the Congressmen don

WHY BJP LOST
by abhishek bhardwaj on May 20, 2009 04:38 PM  | Hide replies

BJP didn't do well in the election and the reason is not what the media is telling . Media has issued the reasons like, Narinder Modi's hate speech and Varun Gandhi's speech or the reasons that BJP Saffron color. The reasons are you and me the people who favors BJP on rediff. com but never goes out to vote ( I had cast my vote) The reason is that Intellectual middle class who thinks about the nation on the issues which are not known to the majority or lower class of India like defense, terrorism, Hinduism, and conversion of hinuds to christian never gone out to vote in large numbers. The people who cast their vote are from the Slums and lower cast, and Muslims people who never been convinced that BJP can bring some benefits to them... BJP needs to work on the ground level like congress is doing. Congress has one hidden agenda and that is, to destroy the ethnic Hindu culture from the country. Now BJP also needs a mask... to impress these classes like Christians, Muslims and keep the hidden agenda of bringing the whole nation under Hindu rule ... however the loosing this election is in the favor of BJP because people will get attacked by terrorist as with the support of Congress government get ready for the genocide of Hindus in the Muslims populated area near Bangal and also get ready to receive more dead body of our dear soldiers from Kashmir. But hey Afazal Guru will not be hanged because congress love too much those who are enemy of our country

Ya...In Mumbai, the election day was on Thursday and then Friday was Maharashtra Day (a state holiday) and the next 2 days were weekending days.

So instead of voting, people set off on a 4 days vacation.

Our Election process itself is wrong
by Ravi Prakash on May 20, 2009 04:36 PM

Indian Democracy is the one of the big Democracies in the world. However, if you look at the way the leaders are elected just with a majority of 30% to 40% (means around 60% to 70%) votes poled against).
I am really wondering why none of the Media or able leaders take this as a National issue.
Unless otherwise we set right the election process, we can not say who is real winner. But we can say who is really who lost.

The wait has been 5 months till the attacks happened and will the trial will keep getting stretched till the next 5 months also (as the state assembly polls in maharashtra are due in Sept 2009).

If Kasab had been a Hindu, they wud have happily hung him but now they have a problem tht Kasab is a Muslim.

It is easy to think about something else if u had not lost your uncle in the attacks.

It is the Congress tht is obsessed with protecting the Muslim terrorists.

BJP might be drowned but the survivors of terror attacks will continue to demand justice.

BJP guys think, that they lost because of Muslim votes. they also think that those who vote for other parties are anti national. they have this attitude from quite some time. inspite of the fact that they know that terro attacks have been going on in India and elsewhere since last 20 years in any regime.

somebody loss is somebody's gain
by pawan kesarwani on May 20, 2009 04:32 PM  | Hide replies

The U P A has not been voted in the power, instead the lack of united opposition and the over ambition of regional parties has led to the surprise result. However, some good points of this mandate are :-
1. stable government
2. able leadership to tackle recession.
3. emergence of national parties over the useless regional parties.

the flip side of the mandate are :-
1. increase in red tapism and corruption level
2. lost chance of hauling back swiss amount
3. no chance of disinvestment and disposal of PSUs
4. appeasing one community with all means on the name of so called secularism.

I believe that this mandate will help india to recover from the last 5 year debacale but will not enable it to do anything which can turn it into the superpower.

I can bet the top 5 cabinet posts will be handled by the people aged over 70 years. So why this talk abt youth when they really have no say in shaping the country. Just becasue congis won you can claim anything.
