I will never accept Sonia Gandhi family -
by SATISHCHANDRA CHINTAMANI on May 20, 2009 03:50 PM  | Hide replies

I have been an ardent follower of Indira Gandhi for that thrustful guidance to rural progress in the 70s. but Sonia Gandhi - noway - It is now a general belief that only if you vote Congress you are secular - Why can i not be secular and vote BJP for a change - to get a better look at different means of progress. All other parties are hopelessly corrupt excpet BJP and Congress at the National Level. This stand rules out voting congress because everybody thinks that sonia is Congress - I can never accept Sonia as an Indian - she has no place in my heart or in my country;s parliament- I am secular but i will vote against congress for this reason.

Absolutely! She is not an Indian. What is really her role in India? Why the hell we don't have a single real Indian who can manage the whole show?

I totally agree with you,
this NRI- Non RESIDENT Italian cannot understand the Indian Mindset b cos she's from Europe. She can never be an Indian even by heart.
I was an ASrdent supporter of Congress till 2000. Once sonia took over , i stopped supporting Congress. See the same congres brought down IK GUJRAL Govt, son SHAH commissison report implicating DMK in Rajivji's murder and she is honobobing with them proves her diff cultural background.
Had Rajiv's wife been an Indian, she wouldnt definitely have truck with DMK.
I will never accept Sonia's family to rule this country.
It was not due to Raoul gandhi that the won in UP, b cos no party wanted alliance with Congress in UP.
It was b cos of Mayavati's misrule that congress got some xtra seats.
I wont vote for congress till sonia is there.

If only Cong has sons of ministers as MPs
by Forrest Gump on May 20, 2009 03:47 PM  | Hide replies

what abt Varun Gandhi(son of 4 time MP Menaka), Raghavendra(son of CM Yediyurappa), Manavendra Singh(son of Jaswant Singh), Uddhav Thackeray(son of Bal Thackeray) etc etc etc

BJP should repeat this proverb thousand times as imposition for election loss "jo sheeshon ke mahal mein rehte hain woh doosro pe patthar nahi mara karte"...get down to your homework BJP supporters instead of cribbing and crying so much in these forums.

do not flatter him too much
by dranil on May 20, 2009 03:45 PM  | Hide replies

After the election results are out, everyone seems to have left with only one job and that is praising Rahul. I understand politicians, particularly the Congressmen doing that because that is the Congress culture and secondly everyone knows that by keeping the family happy they are free to get indulged into corruption and frauds. Rahul has the whole government machinary at his disposal, the air-crafts, helicopter, ac cars and the best food and AC accommodation wherever he went. He also knows that in rural India though the kings are no longer are ruling, 'Praja' however remains and that these people will touch feet of anyone from the said family. He has developed skills to exploit people emotionally and convert those emotions into votes for Congress. How serious he is about the poverty eradication and rural development is something only time will prove. Being born in Gandhi family, 90 percent of his problems are solved automatically. can any one see political struggle here? It is easy for CHo to say that he see in Rahul the emerging leader.. why not? He is already a leader by virtue of being born in that family. Let us not speak on his leadership for a few more years.. let us watch him and see what he does for the poor of this country and how fast. Let us see how he works towards curbing corruption at Ministry and respective state government levels. Let us see how he deals with the politicians who are hell bent on dividing the country on the basis of caste and religion..

You are right , Lets see whether Raoul now
goes to village and stays with dalits etc.
Let us see what concrete steps he heartfully will take to eradicate poverty.
Iam sure nothing he will do except spending time around a Coterie, who will be praising him sky high, keeping him away from the realities.
Lets wait and watch whether he can come near to 2% of Rajivji.

WISE PEOPLE
by rk rv on May 20, 2009 03:45 PM

THIS ELECTION SHOWED OUR PEOPLE ARE BECOMING WISER IN ELECTING THEIR LEADERS. ESPECIALLY BY VOTING FOR ONE SINGLE PARTY TO RULE THE COUNTRY WITHOUT ANY HUNG, IS REALLY AN APPRECIABLE THING. DOES NOT MATTER WHETHER IT IS CONGRESS OR BJP, BUT THEY CONFIRMED THAT WE NEED STABLE GOVT. WHO CAN DECIDE AND TAKE THE COUNTRY FORWARD WITHOUT ANY HURDLES. IT IS ALSO SEEN REGIONAL PARTIES ARE BECOMING TOO HEADSTRONG IN DICTATING TERMS IN THE CENTRE THEREFORE, THIS ELECTION IS A GOOD LESSON FOR THOSE WHO BEHAVE DIFFERENTLY. ALSO IT IS A GOOD LESSON TO ALL POLITICIANS THAT THEY CANNOT PLAY WITH PEOPLE HEREAFTER.

AP by sending the maximum number of MPs (total 33) would look for more Ministerial berths rather than mere 1. By the way as I see, Jaipal Reddy is one of contestants for the Speaker's position.

There are some who are born with fame.
There are others who acquire fame.
There are still others on whom fame is thrust whether they deserve it or not.
Rahul belongs to the third category.

Cho is another sycophant and an oz licker of Rahul.
