It is called risk aversion!!
by tar sha on May 17, 2009 06:30 PM

It is a good strategy. If Rahul takes any portfolio and cannot deliver, it will impact his future chances of becoming PM.

Dynasty Yuga of India
by Lune Shark on May 17, 2009 06:11 PM

After Gandhi dynasty cemented its hegemony in India, now it's the turn of UPA ally DMK. Karunanidhi is all set to impose his own two children- Alagiri and Kanimozhi- as part of his bargain with Con party- to be given cabinet positions in the center. God, what are we heading to? Amar Singh dalaal is already centerstage with hid deals and fixings..

and you know Karunanidhi.. he's the guy who wants the Ram Setu sand dunes destroyed.

Let's sit back and see the show that will be played for electing evil to power. To keep away one eveil, we brought in a recalcitrant one.

todays news report on rediff also contains a report that there are now 150 criminals in parliment - what is the new dawn ?
ok agreed - it is important to be secular with about 22% minority population wee cannot have a hindu only agenda - thats why it is good for the BJP to be out - also look how mamata and karunanidhi will now make the congress dance --
fact remains we do not have single party which is worth to rule our country -- god save our country.

why look to black money stashed away in swiss banks, let it be safe for our future use rather take money out of HUNDIS of our Temples, Dargahs & Churches which is sufficient to run poverty alleviating programs for their respective areas - one fine INDIA will be poverty free I SWEAR BY GOD.

Advasni's loss is Indians' loss. Now who is gonna bring out the big money stashed away in Swiss accounts? UPA and MMS and Sonia would never ever do that..

Dont get hasty. Wait for some more time. The worst time is yet to come for Indians. The educated class and middle class will pay heavily for 2 reasons: Not casting their votes and the stupidity of village people for voting congress.
Good Luck.

Some people get jittery when it comes to Swiss money topic..including our UPA govt.
the cat will be out.. poor Advani... he could've gained Moksha just by doing that-bringing the Swiss money of Indian crooks and publishing the names.

Indians win, hindus lose saffronism stinks!

Sonia and Manmohan's combined charm has worked. Now I would like to ask Advani who is weak? Definitely Advani's weak and he should think about retiring and playing with his grandchildren. Instead of addressing the real concerns of India which have always been poverty, employment, better living standards, farmers etc, they have focussed on hate speeches, personal attacks, communal politics, trivial and non-essential dead issues like ram janma bhoomi, rem sethu, amarnath, terrorism etc which the common man doesn't give a damn about. Rahul Gandhi has shown more wisdom, honesty and political maturity than all the trash talking BJP top leadership put together. It just shows two young leaders in sharp contrast. Rahul who has come of age, can speak on a wide range of political issues and problems. Second is Varun who can only propel himself into limelight by making controversial hate speeches. Its clear that Varun is not anywhere near the new emerging modern and capable leaders like Scindia, Pilot, Deora and Rahul and Omar. In their hands i am confident India will be in safe hands and progress faster. Varun better learn from them or perish

Truely Remarkable Rahul !!!!!!
by India on May 17, 2009 04:55 PM  | Hide replies

Truely Remarkable Rahul !!!!!!

I was in awe for him even before elction because all his work was straight from heart....
I could see light at the end of the tunnel in him...as politics in India symbolises treachery, deceit and opputunism of lowest order by most of politician except very rare like Rahul... a worthy inheritor of Gandhi family ..

I have no hesitation to say Jai Ho...

I wish him great success to make a difference in rotten Indian politics..
May he survive all the hurdles and threat which like his father he may face..

I pray( let all Indians join me prayer ) for his safety and well being of him and our great Indian democracy.
It is a new dawn..

While it is ok to become adulatory to gain, this is not quite correct.
I don't think Rahul comes across as a great leader. His decision to go it alone in UP and Bihar has worked only in Bihar because of Mulayam taking Kalyan Singh in.The win was fortuitous.
If Rahul is so great why did he not go it alone in Tamil Nadu, despite the horrendous performance of DMK Ministers in the UPA.
So I think it is pure luck in UP.In Andhra it was Reddy and in Maharashtra it was the MNS.So it is good to switch sides quickly,I think Rahul has miles to go and one swallow does not make a summer.

Second that.

This is like giving clean chit to Dynasty rule in a so called democracy.

Sonia Gandhi planned well to eventually bring supreme power back to her family, and she has won in that effort. People watch too many sops and masala bollywod and are in a drunken mentality..they don't see any other side of the problem

can somebody explain how these demands are communal?
by harish kulkarni on May 17, 2009 04:48 PM  | Hide replies

1. Abolition of Article 360 that gives special status to J&K
- Everybody saya Jammu & Kashmir is integral part of India, if so, then why special status? Even the famed RTI (Right To Information) Act is not applicable to J&K!!! As an Indian, am i not empowered to seek infor about J&K? if it is integral part of India?

2. Uniform Civil Code
- As citizens of India, irrespective of our relegion, what is wrong in having Uniform Civil Code in the national interest? like we do in schools, colleges, & offices

3. Ban Cow Slaughter
-Yes, for a Hindu, Cow is very sacred, Cow is god. But apart from relegion, A Cow is also the backbone of our Rural Economy. 100s of thousands of family depend on a cow.Whatever a Cow throws out, is useful for Human being & Agriculture.

These are absolutely secular demands that were criticized only due to Votebank Politics.
Now, can somebody help me understand how these demands are communal, as criticized by so called secular parties?

3. Cow may be sacred to us Hindus, but in India, Minorities run the show or rather, the 'sickular' Cangiressis (Hindus) run the show for minorities. So let's weep for another 1000 yrs for electing DYNASTY ro power again..Shame on us!
