Global wave against religious fundametalism
by AK AK on May 17, 2009 09:59 PM

People are tired of wars, bloodshed, hatred in the name of religions. They want peace and want to live their lives with their families. They dont want governments to be a moral police, they are tired of jingoistic dramas, empty slogans played out before them for too many years. Similar verdict delivered against Christian conservative party in US. Similar verdict is waiting against muslim conservative party in Iran. If you look closely all these non secular, conservative, pseudo-nationalistic parties of different religions act very similar. They always talk more, show unnecessary aggresion towards little causes, ignore poverty and other social ills, isolate people who disagrees with them. They all share paranoid obsession with their cultures. Each and everything is perceived as a threat to their way of life. Their firebrand talking heads usually control their parties. Ex Rush limbaugh, sean hannity, micheal savage, narendra modi, varun gandhi, ahmadinejad etc. These people know nothing better than just revving up the base voters with divisive propaganda while spreading ignorance and intolerance. These jokers while promoting their own individual brand push away anyone who even remotely disagrees with them. It's unbelievable how similar all these fundamentalist parties are alike in rhetoric, public persona and on major issues. It's just that they cling on to different religions. People had enough of this drama, they want mature educated statesman as leaders now.

The same Rahul, Priyanka & the Grand Old Party Congress brought us out of numerous lurches. What ppl like Modi & Advani do is only pure rhetoric & nothing else. no more will the normal public get swayed only by high pitched emotional speeches. the BJP is gang of goons more than anything else.

>>>>>>>>>>>The same Rahul, Priyanka & the Grand Old Party Congress brought us out of numerous lurches............is this a joke? The Congis wanted to invest the Employees Provident Fund money into the Shares when Sensex was at 22,000. Can you imagine what would have happened to that money (nearly 1,50,000 Crores belong to working class) when the Sensex plumetted to less than 9000 ?? It is only due to tight control over the monetary policies of the Left Front that the Congis could not wreck havoc. And of course we all can see what would be the outcome of the dubious Nuclear Deal very shortly. It would be a thouand times bigger than the ENRON deal.

Even shivaji was a goon but at least he fought aurangzeb. Morality is the invention of the weak to counter the strength of the strong. If you do not change your thinking very soon you will be living in an Islamic State of India

This country has remained backward for the last 60 years ,....and we can only thank the Congress Party and the Nehru Gandhi family for that.

About 2 years ago , today's poster boy - Rahul Gandhi - was waxing on the advantages of reservation.

His father was an out and out corrupt person.
His "Bofors" deal is a bye word for corruption.
Need we say more ?

Rahul Gandhi , was not even a meritorious student in school or college; unlike his grand father - Pandit Nehru , or his great grand father - Motilal Nehru.

What are his accomplishment till date ?
(apart from his Italian skin.)

He is just another vote hungry politician ,
with white skin , .....and marginally better packaging ,.....which is bound to wear off ,
just like the image of his dad - "Mr Clean"

Watch this space 5 years hence ,
and remember these words.

This country is stil backward after 60 years is because of 60 years of reservation. Gaddhas who dont know a from b are in prime decision making positions because of reservation. What more can you expect.

If you can't beat them, join them!
by Ramesh Kapoor on May 17, 2009 08:10 PM

These comments will be more proverbial, and hopefully, will project the present situation. Saisuresh, starting with you, the above saying shows the current position of many critics of the Royal family of India. There is no point 'to beat a dead horse' as the issues of sycophansy will remain, and so would be the BJP's 'communal' status. Now the NDA should learn from a Hindi proverb: Ab pachhtayat kya hot hei, jab chidyan chug gayi khet. The legislature with 150 tainted MPs, and the count in another article in today's Rediff showed that 67 of 121 MPs of the third and fourth front shows that 'ab to choron ka raaj aagya hei.' Remembering a quote from Raj Kapoor's Jis Desh Mein Ganga Behti hei, when one chor had asked the question 'choron' ka raaj kab ayega. Chalo jo hua achha hua. Amen.

by sherlock dose on May 17, 2009 08:07 PM  | Hide replies

Past few days here, we (including me) all have been lambasting upon BJP. But in the process of this downpour, things went ugly when some of our fellow Indians indulged into making fun of each other’s faith (rel).

All faiths on this planet restrict us from mocking upon other person’s faith. So why do it? Let some loose-heads bark, we better turn our deaf ear upon them and do not reply their messages on the board.

Moreover, that the HMSC of India shall fight with each other; IS MOST DESIRED BY…

a) Bee Jay-ay-ay Peeee. We have them here as Indian version of Tail-Bands. So many K*rs*vaks lost their lives, and those who drove them into it, never got a scratch on their velvet skin habitual of AC cars and bungalows. These bed-bugs (sorry, chair-bugs!) live century long lives. They divide us to rule us.

b) India’s greatest well wishers, friends, brothers (antonyms, u know y ;) the Pa Ch Ba trio. These hungry endless wells (bhukkhads) cannot manage their own affairs, but keep an ev*l-eye on our motherland. They approach the victims of Peeee-company to create mindless creatures out of them.

Whoever is mocking upon another faith is helping ‘a’ & ‘b’. He loses the right to be an Indian and right to be known as human being. I request all readers to post better mails than mine. Give some time to the unity of land where we sprouted up and would go down someday.

Elections are over. All of us will go back to our work. Let Dr. MMS do hi

From 1947 Till Date: India Maturing
by Arunkumar Puthenveetil on May 17, 2009 07:04 PM

India cannot be in slumber when the best of the world is on a technology ramp since its birth. Simply look at the face of the globe... the way it changed its look... since 50s to date: a film lover would see tremendous changes in the style of acting, a social worker would see sea changes in the kind of issues that bugged, an economist would see phenomenal change in market equations, an environmentalist has a new bouquet of problems... now why should the politician not change? Can the religion still continue to be a card when the Nation has to think ways to catch up with the rest of world? Or is it that its high time we, the people India, mean buisiness to the rest of the world? Is it not time to get together with like-minded nations and forge our way ahead showing the real 'Hindutva' in all Indians regardless of their designated religion by floating our value added products and services in the international markets - be it processed food out of agriculture, fabrication of microchips, solution to environmental issues, 'smart' e-solutions for daily life... Lets turn to KARMA... the time has come to leap beyond 2020...

Elections
by pankaj vijayan on May 17, 2009 06:45 PM

Indian Electorate have shown that they cannot be taken for granted and this elections results were no exception.BJP cannot any more expect votes in the name of Ram and mandir. When Advani challenged Manmohan Singh, people sided with the dignified silence of the latter. Not many would have thought that Mamta Banerjee would make it this time, not after she oppossed the Singur Tata Project.English Media and Corporates Czars went hammer and tongs against the 'wrong' act of oppossing Tatas and welcomed CPM Govt of rolling out red carpet for setting up industries at the cost of farmers. The results showed that the CPM Govt have not read the public opinion, they were totally isolated from the people, sitting in ivory towers they grossly miscalculated the electorate and the results are there to be seen in the hammerring the received.
