One must congratulate Dr Manmohan Singh for his success. However, one may also suspect that now - without the Left checks and balances - the central government will merrily go on opening up the funds of the banks, LIC, pension and provident funds to the foreign investors and ruin the fortunes of the Indians. Dyas may not far when India will be reduced to a seconf-class ally of the USA.

Manmohan Singh must be congratulated, because after Jawaharlal Nehru and Mrs Indira Gandhi, he is going to be the third Indian Prime Minister to win a Lok Sabha election as an incumbent Prime Minister. This is a feat which could not be achieved by men like Narasimha Rao or Atal Behari Vajpayee (not to speak of men like Morarji, Charan Singh, VP Singh or Deve Gowda who could not complete 5 years in office).
