can not say ''thoughtful'' verdict
by Chandrakant Pandit on May 16, 2009 02:19 PM  | Hide replies

how can one say it was a thoughtful and clear verdict with less then 50% voting. whenever there is a low voting it was observed that congress wins. because in a low voting 70 to 75% voting if from illeterate and poors from slums where money factor works. These people does not know what is overall sitution of contry. They votes either under infuence of money, muscle power or emosional like Rahul and priyanka carries for congress owned by Gandhi family.

Thoughtful verdict may be possible only when educated people vote with turnout of more then 90% like USA.

UPA must reinfuse positivity into the nation
by Sundaram on May 16, 2009 02:16 PM  | Hide replies

With UPA having won impressively, hopefully, we will be spared of all the negativity of BJP.
Now Dr. Singh can infuse considerable positi-vity into the country by creating awards for competitive good performance of individual states. Parameters like industrial growth rate,
ability to pull in FDI, exports, industrial peace, growth in tourism etc. The states have to be drawn into some kind of a warm healthy competition so that they individually improve and learn from other states. Nitish Kumar has proved that given the determination and sincerity, any state, even Bihar, which was mostly given up, can be developed. At the same time, there must be a machinery to redress a state's grievances without undue delay. We all need to make a fresh beginning.

Sundaram I am a BJP supporter I do not agree BJP was negative in its approach I am sad we did not get the mandate, I party blame the media in its role.

However congratulations to entire India for being decisive and bringing out a government which is a national party even though i am a little disappointed at the loss of BJP, I was hopeful that the corrupt politicians will be thrown out with the exposure of Swiss black money.

Anyway I wish BJP to come back harder in 2014

The problem with you BJP supporters is that you never recognize reality around you and wish to live in a make believe world of your own. In every respect, BJP's was a negative camp-aign and the people of India have given a fitting reply. This answer also includes a fitting response to the way you ill-treated the ladies in a pub in Mangalore and dragged your feet long enough to let Ram Sene get away scot free. Do you think the people of India are fools ?

What has Ram Sene got to do with the BJP ?? Is Mangalore pub attack more bigger than the Mmbai attacks ???

There are only two factors that can make congress win :
* Hindus have lost their sense and sanity..

* Elections are RIGGED / Unfair election practices prevailed..

I guess it is a bit of both...

Look, everything looks yellow to the jaundiced eye. First get your-self cured instead of blaming all Hindus. To infuse confidence in the people about Govt's sincerity in upholding the law, the BJP Govt. should have acted immediately in arresting the Ram Sene culprits. Instead it dragged its feet and arrested them only when it was threatened with dismissal. You want to call this dubious governance good governance ? Why should the people ever support BJP in future and its dubiousness ?

Good to have a non-left govt
by sameer bhagwaan on May 16, 2009 02:16 PM

ITs good to have a non-left govt - whether it ended up with the NDA or UPA it really didnt matter to the middle class. A clear verdict is something which is good for economic stability and policies.
LEts support this govt for its pro people policies.

SHEELS BHAT'S KNICKER PARTY IS OUT CUZ OF HER CHAMING PRINCE MOD
by raju on May 16, 2009 02:00 PM  | Hide replies

Bringing up Narendra Modi's name in the middle of the campaign was a serious error of judgement," BJP leader Chandan Mitra said analysing the election results on CNN-IBN.

The comments in connection with Modi were personal opinion of a senior leader and were seen as the feeling of the party.

"It was a mistake, though every attempt was made to cover it up," Mitra said.

BJP made a series of mistakes in its campaign and attempted a series of cover ups. Having allowed 6 or 7 terrorist attacks against India during their regime, it was stupid of them to attack MMS on the 26/11 attack because it rebounded badly on them. Till today, I do not undertand the logic of projecting Modi as an "also PM" candidate, when Advani himself was under duress fighting for his success. BJP should realize that brazen behaviour is fine so long as it is accompanied with brains.
