No Chinese influence
by zaratustra on May 16, 2009 02:52 PM  | Hide replies

The only thing I congratulate the voters of India for in this election is: they kicked the commies out.

Let's see if Manmohan Singh (if he is elected PM at all) will sort the mess in Nepal out.

If a particular Community was Booted out of India in 1947, Today The Congress would not have survived, let alone win.

Right and Wrong
by zaratustra on May 16, 2009 02:45 PM  | Hide replies

There's a saying about law: A Supreme Court verdict is not final because it is correct. It is correct because it is final.

Ditto with democracy as well. People's vote final. But it is not necessarily correct.

Pandits will be out with their analyses
by zaratustra on May 16, 2009 02:41 PM  | Hide replies

But here's the bottomline: A ruling dispensation has been reelected despite having NOTHING to show for a good track record. It won despite bringing down economy and despite bringing terrorists to our doorstep. It won because votebanks shifted loyalties, especially in UP.

The average journalist today is a rogue who developed a vested interest in having corrupt rulers rule us, because he/she can share in that loot. So expect media pundits not to mention this crucial fact: winning a vote doesn't justify misrule, corruption and communalism

All India Voting was 54% so even if all the Muslims voted then still 40% Hindus voted...So Why Did BJP Loose?

WILL UPA TAKE STEPS TO STOP CONVERSION
by aandal on May 16, 2009 02:38 PM  | Hide replies

After Kerala TN Orissa missionaries aggressive in AP and Karnataka
Alarming 5 fold increase in Kandhamal Christian population from six per cent in 1971 to 27 per cent in 2001 ,It began with the arrival of Christian missionaries in the area who found the remote region very conducive to conduct prosetylization amongst the poor tribals. The conversions continued unhindered until the arrival of Swami Laxmanananda who put strenuous efforts to stop conversions and help reconversion to Hinduism as well. If not for his effort Kandhamal would have been another Nagaland in the making where the separatist movement has wrecked havoc in the state.
The aggressive Christian proselytization in Orissa today pitched previously peaceful tribals into warring camps of Christians and non-Christian. This has has vitiated the peace that has existed with various communities for millenia.
Why Orissa
Orissa has been specially targeted because of a huge tribal population. This allows the missionaries to work from the scrutiny of the media and carry our their nefarious activities.
In Kandhamal district, for instance, the Christian population has increased from six per cent in 1971 to 27 per cent in 2001, despite a law enacted by the Orissa Legislature in 1967 to prevent conversion by allurement, coercion, bribery and cheating.

Testing time for UPA
by Uncomparable on May 16, 2009 02:35 PM  | Hide replies

This has been a surprise for most of the mandate who voted for a change. Only time will tell and we will see how UPA tackles larger issues of National Security, Foreign Affairs & Recession in these troubled times. As a common man, I am worried who will be home minister? What will he do for our security? How much bangladeshis will infiltrate into the country from east and pakistanis from north is another question? How much are we prepared for Terrorism? What will be the fate of Intelligence forces (will it be Congress Bureau of Investigation or really address issues without bias)....
I do not have answers to these questions at present...

My heart beats for India.....it hurts....
