Taroor and his victory
by Bhagwan Das on May 16, 2009 07:15 PM

Taroor is a deserving candidate to win. It is heartening to see that educated people with vision are elected. It certainly is a change from politicians whose qualifications are 3rd standard and 'goondaism'!I only hope that he will not disappoint the people who elected him to LS. Make a change in the cityscape and in the lives of people of TVM. Good luck.

He is just another politician in the making.
Start with good intentions ,......and end up
no-where ,.....just like the Congress Party.

Watch this space 5 years hence.

Finally an erudite, sensible and sensitive citizen has been chosen. Congress is lucky to have his value added services. They should use his services wisely.

We need more men like him
by The Patriot on May 16, 2009 07:09 PM

Shashi's victory is a victory for sane and progressive minded malayalis. Malayalis have suffered from years of rule (misrule)of the left parties which has left the state coffers empty, its youth jobless, ensured no industry or enterprise would take root and promoted a culture of violence. Politicians well past the retirement age with outdated ideas and beliefs have ensured that this state of talented and hard working people have been reduced to cheap laborers in far flung lands, who have sustained the economy of the state through their hard earned remittances. I hope the election of Shashi Tharoor will herald a new generation of progressive minded leaders from the state. Awaken ye People of kerala, the country marches on, you have nothing to loose but unemployment, under development and a social order that promotes poking into others business rather than minding your own.

He was also not born in Kerala, never visited Kerala except for elections, and did not know a single word of Malayalam, yet represented his constituency of Ponnani for a record 7 times!!!

Vision
by Pratap Nair on May 16, 2009 06:58 PM

I applaud the people of TVM for electing a worhty individual.I am sure that he will put into motion the vision designed for TVM by him.
I cannot understand that rhetoric of born outised, worked outside etc which fail to comprehend that the best in the world should be available to TVM.

I wish him all success and great health to work hard like ever before.
Godcare.
